Online Courses: The upside of online classes is being able to do my coursework on my time within my schedule. The downside to online classes are required group projects. Online group projects are the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard of doing. There's always one or two responsible people and one or two people that don't show up or do anything at all. Then you have the one or two people who show up but then don't actually deliver. In a traditional classroom with a specific meeting time, it is easier to communicate and see where each person is on the project. Online, it is nearly impossible to know if someone is not working or just hasn't checked their email.

Academic Experience: The program is specific and expedited by only requiring classes that are degree specific. I am studying Business and all the courses are related to business atmosphere and management.

Academic Flexibility: AIU online allows me to do my coursework on my time. Recorded class notes gives me the opportunity to "attend" class around my schedule.

Online Courses: All of my courses are on line. 90% of the instructors I have had cared about helping student be successful for example providing feed back therefore student able to learn from what they didn't complete succesfully and provide positive feed back to assure what you are completing is accurate.

Tuition & Financial Aid: AIU is very good at providing the books and course materials directly to the students. Regardless of my location, the school always provided me with the materials I needed in order to complete the courses.

Career Services: The career service center has a 'board' where you can see job openings. This is useful for individuals who are looking for a selected area (and not many postings) on their own, without assistance from a counselor.

Campus Resources: AIU Online is the only online experience I have ever had. Thier Virtual Campus looks to have it all though. They've got a classroom portal, library, learning center, tech support center, career services... and more.

Online Courses: My experience with online classes has been good so far. I wasn't real sure what to expect at first, but after getting used to it, it wasn't so bad. It is definately different from traditional classroom experience, since you are in your own home (or library, etc.). You do get to work at your own pace, on your own time- which works best for me, since I am a working mother of two. There are discussion boards, in which you are required to participate in, so you do get interaction with your classmates- just via web.

Academic Experience: I have completed one class at AIU Online, and I must say that I really did enjoy it. Even though it is all online, I found it very easy to communicate with everyone. I got a 4.0 GPA in the class.

Tuition & Financial Aid: I am still currently in FAFSA review, so I am unsure yet of my loan amounts, but the process is quite easy. AIU Online has a documents page that allows you to see what documents are needed to be completed, by what department, and when the documents are due. I haven't found anything on their site, however, about help with Scholarships, so I am having to go out on my own to try and find them.

Campus Resources: My experience with AIU has been well so far. I always get someone on the phone not a machine. My advisor was great with helping me understand my options. I am still in the process of getting everything ready for my classes in two weeks. That is the only reason I rated it a C+. Once I begin I'm sure I'll change it.

Academic Flexibility: I had no problems transferring my Associate degree credits. All of my credits transferred over. The convenience of studying on my own time is such a plus. I like being able to schedule my study time around my personal time.

Academic Experience: The professors are wonderful. They seem to be so caring and don't treat me like a number. The registration process was pretty simple. The only problem I have had is with my Student Adviser. I don't feel that she responds to me in a timely manner. I had a Student Educator with my first class and she responded to me within 24 hours but my Student Advisor doesn't seem to respond to me for a couple of days.

Academic Experience: I am an accounting major but I haven't had to take any accounting classes, yet. I took a class to learn my way around the classroom and my second class is English composition which will help me with my communication skills in the professional workplace.

AIU Online is enjoyed by students that have a variety of diverse schedules, backgrounds, and career goals. The school is a wonderful choice for those that want an accredited college degree but have limited mobility and heavy time constraints. The Instructors here are well prepared, enthusiastic, and eager to broaden the minds of their students. At AIU Online, many peers turn into friends, teachers into mentors, and students into scholars.
