4 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: I'm a psychology major, I love my psych classes and I know I will have to take some courses that will probably bore me to tears but It's worth it to me.

4 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: History was the only subject I had trouble with. The test material was over almost nothing said in class,it was difficult and frustrating to me. The other subjects were easy as long as I kept up with my homework.

4 College Junior

Academic Experience: im a health science major and nit intending on staying here but transferring and the workload was mainly studyinf=g all grade was test and quizzes

5 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: i love how the classes arent so big and you cant still get that one on one with the teacher but still nit feeling like your in high school.

2 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: While at alvin community college there scholarships were only for specific majors and a hour requiremennt. My family I didnt qulalify for finaicial aid and i had to pay myself.

2 College Senior

Online Courses: there are many tech problems and many teachers are not tech savvy

3 College Senior

Student Body: many poeple have jobs so many people aren't intrested

3 College Sophomore

Student Body: There is a vast variety of different people attending ACC, with all having different types of back ground. We are all able to come together and work to make the classroom experience fun and enjoyable, while at the same time being very education.

Career Services: As the employers work real closely with the teachers at my school, it was fairly easy for me to pick up a part-time job at a residential/commercial design company as an intern. It's hard to say how difficult it would be to receive employment had I not been approached by my professor; he knew exactly what my employer was looking for, and my hard work in class was an excellent way to be seen by both of them.

Academic Experience: The teachers who work within my Major are amazingly helpful, but in my case, there are only two at my little community college. The director and assistant director are insightful, happy to help, and many times have direct contact with employment for internships and training. As much as I love to take their classes, there are a few courses that are not taught by them, and they rely on faculty members and volunteers to teach other courses; many of these teachers are not as knowledgeable nor motivated to help the student body.

3 College Sophomore

Student Body: There are not many teachers in my field at the community college; the students work really close to the director and assistant director, this is wonderful, as their insight and knowledge are shared far past the specific parameters of the class curriculum. However, many subjects within the field I needed to take were taught by "faculty" members, who did not seem as motivated nor as knowledgeable in the things we wanted to learn. Also, many students who take these classes do so for the interest, not as a career choice. Those kinds of students tend to disrupt the class and are very slow in progression through the course due to lack of drive or enthusiasm.

3 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: Some teachers are understanding, but others are not. They could care less what happens.

3 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: I have not attempted to acquire financial aide, but the tuition is reasonable. I think it is crazy that I have to pay more because I'm out of district, when I live 15 minutes away.

3 College Junior

Online Courses: It is very difficult to get a hold of the teachers, they take forever to respond. The classwork is not very organized and the new system they are using is very confusing and difficult to access.

5 College Junior

Student Body: ACC is very diverse and full of life. The students are very nice and helpful, there are a lot of young people attending along with a few older people.

College Sophomore

Online Courses: I really don't know about online courses, and I frankly don't think I would be good at it. I like human interaction even though I'm shy. I need someone to be there and expect me to show up.

3 College Sophomore

Student Body: There is a lot of diversity at my school, and I really like it. There are people with families that are here to work hard and learn, but there are also goof-offs that kinda make me mad because I'm here to learn and get my degree, so that's a bit annoying. But overall the people here, young and old, are friendly.

4 College Sophomore

Career Services: I think the career center is just great. They help students find jobs that fit their schedules, help alumni find jobs and ultimately make life easier.

4 College Sophomore

Tuition & Financial Aid: Alvin Community College has done a pretty good job with helping me out and answering my questions. The campus is very friendly and the education I'm getting was worth the money. Not only are my professors helping me towards getting my degree, their information is very useful in life itself. The professors are reasonable and get straight to the point. I enjoy attending classes here.

Campus Resources: The library was very helpful and had a wide variety to choose from. The learning center was always available and the free tutors in there were always very helpful. The student work-out facility was awesome and I loved the fact that for a very small amount you could bring friends with you who didn't go to your school.

4 College Senior

Campus Resources: The school has many normal resources, such as the library, student center, and student organizations. The thing I loved most about my school was the accessiblity to these resources and the willingness to help from those who led them.

5 College Freshman

Campus Resources: ACC campus is always putting on all sorts of differnt activies and ways for students to become more invovled and social.

5 College Freshman

Campus Resources: I love how friendly and helpful the campus is. The student life is very open and very social. The staff itself is caring about the students attending and are always putting on events. Some days they are giving out free food, certain activities as a stress reliever after finals week, and awsome awareness acitivities. The teaching there is great, I haven't had any issues. I love how the learning labs and library are open at conveniant hours, same as the labs in the science building.

5 College Freshman

Campus Resources: easily accessible labs, great wifi, good tech support

5 College Senior

Campus Resources: Alvin College has exceeded my expectations time after time. I would recommend to future students.
