Health & Safety: Alverno does an amazing job at educating students regarding health, ensures the safety and is transparent regarding possible threats.

4 College Sophomore

Computers: All of the computers and computer spaces are always efficient and allow you to get your work done whenever you need to. We do have 500 pages of free printing, which is a perk. I love coming from class and then going straight to work on my homework.

5 College Sophomore

Facilities: I do not think there has ever been a time where I've seen Alverno's campus neat and clean. Everything is always in place, grass is always cut, landscape makes the campus look beautiful, and the Christmas tree in the rotunda is absolutely speechless.

3 College Sophomore

Weather: We have a variety of weather, but I think that is what makes it great. Watching the seasons change and seeing the leaves change colors to the snow falling on the ground. All of these things make the campus unique.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Small, and a little pricey, but very convenient and worth living especially if you want that experience of what it is like to live on your own.

Facilities: Alverno College is a great school that keeps you involved and motivated. The environment is peaceful and keeps you uplifted. There is no way you can fail. There are so many opportunities and the professors are always there to help. We have so many resources, including the computer lab, communication lab, and the library. You pay for what you get and this school is awesome!

3 College Junior

Facilities: Although I do not stay on campus I know that there always student activities going on at Alverno! I usually come to school for class and then usually head out but I always see so many ads of upcoming events all over campus! The vibe at Alverno is extremely calming and you always feel like you can get work done!

Majors: I have had an internship, not yet with Alverno College but my experience was great! I worked on the fields and with the environment one on one. I loved viewing the world through a biology perspective and I was also able to communicate with people on a daily basis on good and bad circumstances but I wouldn't trade the experience for anything in the world.

5 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: I personally love the vibe Alverno has to offer! The atmosphere is extremely comfortable that it almost feels retro! Being that it is an all girl college, everyone feels super comfortable with one another and almost feels as thought every lady attending is there for a reason, to learn. Everyone seems to be on the same page there unlike other colleges.

Athletics: I think sports at Alverno are pretty good. It's not a huge deal at our campus although there is high fan support, student involvement, and school spirit but it's not a huge focus. I'm pretty sure answers might vary coming from a student athlete than from a student not involved in sports.

Weather: It's pretty rare having bad weather around campus and with the winters it is even more rare to have classes cancel. I like the weather around campus, it's comfortable but when it does snow it's kind of a pain driving to school in really bad weather. But the weather is usually always comfortable enough to go outside and get some work done or have lunch around campus.

Guys & Girls: The women at Alverno College are nice and always there to help if needed.

5 College Senior

Diversity: Very diverse. I get the opportunity to learn about all different cultures from school events.

5 College Senior

Facilities: Being an all women's college, small class sizes, interaction with instructors, feedback on your work.

Greek Life: Greek Students Viewed by Non-Greeks – Going to an all girl school you see a lot of mulitcultural individuals. I don't believe non-greeks judge greek students. At Alverno, each student on campus is treated equal, no discrimination

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: It could be better but it is a roof over your head. There are great people that live there including myself.

5 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Just a couple of blocks from the school and you are by lots of food places including walmart and a movie theatre.

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: They are a pretty good team. They are very dedicated and motivated.

4 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: Milwaukee has things to do you just have to research them.

5 College Senior

Drug Safety: Alverno is not a party school in the least. The college receives a monthly grant because they are declared a no smoking school; so even cigarette smoking is not allowed on campus perimeter. The on-campus housing is more full of coffee house activities and study groups, never dorm parties. Any drinking usually takes place between peers outside of campus, once the legal drinking age is reached. Usage of alcohol and drugs is not often discussed because of the high educational atmosphere and standards that Alverno upholds.

Transportation: Alverno is known as a commuter school in general, so there is a multitude of options for getting to school. Many girls become friends, which introduces the idea of car pooling. The Milwaukee buses run all over the Milwaukee area, and encompassing areas. For students who prefer saving a few dollars, there are park and rides where ladies can catch a bus to school, and leave their car at a half point. All above are fairly cost effective options to getting around.

4 College Senior

Off-Campus Housing: The area surrounding Alverno College is very quiet, and not as frightening as other areas of Milwaukee. Some students may see a con in the fact that the party scene is on the East Side of Milwaukee, but I fully prefer the safe environment of Alverno and West Milwaukee. I live five minutes from the school in a nice neighborhood off Miller Park Way. I have the option of walking, driving, or taking the bus to school if I wanted to. I feel safe doing any of the three. There are an abundance of bus stops and routes located around the Alverno grounds and surrounding areas. Parking is never hard to come by, whether on campus, or in the surrounding neighborhoods.

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: There is a number of off campus housing options for every budget near Alverno.

4 College Junior

Athletics: There is a sport for every athlete at Alverno. From basketball to volleyball, from cheerleading to dance, you can find a sport that interests you.

5 College Junior

Facilities: Alverno is always working to improve the campus buildings and keep them running up to par. The students can take full advantage of all of the buildings and what they have to offer. There are all sorts of programs and activities the students can participate in and Alverno even gives students the option to start their own activity if none of the others suit them.
