Transportation: The bus system runs right next to school and is very nice to travel on

Overall Experience: ITs the best experience I have had, I transferred from a technical college and it was the best decision i have made.

College Freshman

Campus Strictness: I am not sure exactly on some items as i dont live in the dorms

4 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: It is an all girl school. There are no males in class.

College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: I live off campus but in a different city and commute on the days i have class.

4 College Freshman

Majors: Admission process was very easy and all of the staff is super helpful.

College Freshman

Majors: I havent had an internship yet and i dont believe that i will have to have one

Local Atmosphere: Alverno College is located in between the city of Greenfield and Milwaukee. Greenfield is a beautiful, clean city with cute little shops and parks, and has a lot to offer. I prefer Greenfield to Milwaukee. Milwaukee's south side area is not safe, it's dirty and full of bad people. I'm glad Alverno College is located in a safe area, closer to Greenfield, because it is an all women's college.

Campus Dining: I have eaten here multiple times and have never had a negative experience. The staff are friendly and are always willing to help you out. For example, I wanted some tomatoes for a salad of mine, and the worker went in the back and grabbed some just for me.

Majors: Alverno offers a number of majors, but not a huge variety. They do not at all cater to continuing education or adult education as they do not offer any evening classes

Majors: The process of getting into my Nursing major was relatively easy. I didn't have to do a special application process when applying to the school and there wasn't a waiting list either.

Health & Safety: Feeling Safe on Campus – The moment I steped on Alverno's grounds I felt the warmth, energy and friendliness of a college community. I am very familiar with the neighborhood around Alverno, which makes me feel more confortable and relaxed. As far as campus crime or neighborhood crime I don't know the rates but as long as I've lived a couple blocks down the road I've never felt unsafe!

2 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: its not really a great atmosphere. its a long walk to get to any type of store but a short drive. not everyone has cars and no bus takes us out there where we need to go to like walmart, movie stores, etc. its far from downtown but the good thing about that is we could take one bus out there.

3 College Sophomore

Facilities: The building at the college are in great shape and there are plenty things to do; also there are many places to study quietly, talk with friends, or study.

2 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: The housing at Alverno college isn't great but its livable. A lot of things are broken and/or don't get fixed properly. I would suggest better repair company or something so that we are living comfortably at the dorms. The good about the dorms is that everyone interacts with each other and if we need anythings CA's are around (2 on every floor and on duty) to help us in anyway.

Academics: THE WORK LOAD IS VERY INTENSE DEPENDING ON YOUR PROGRAM/MAJOR

3 College Junior

Transportation: CAMPUS IS BEAUTIFUL. TEACHERS/ADVISERS AND COUNCILORS ARE VERY HELPFUL. JUST VERY EXPENSIVE, HARD GRADING SCALE TO GET USED TO.

4 College Senior

Majors: Alverno has a wide variety of majors, and they also offer weekend college classes

5 College Senior

Facilities: The MBA does not work in silos as do most other programs. We are given a gross amount of projects to work on that demonstrate that we have retained the information that is taught. The projects allow us to personalize our learning and really requires us to be fully enveloped in the program.

5 College Senior

Academics: I am a graduate student working on my MBA. Each and every class I absorb a gross amount of information that can immediately be applied in my workplace. I am so fortunate to take part in such an amazing collective.

5 College Senior

Academics: The education is amazing! I actually retain the information learned and can immediately apply it in my workplace.

Most students who have made it through the majority of their years at Alverno say that they cannot imagine being anywhere else. In fact, many students who leave Alverno to go to other schools because of finances or because they didn't think Alverno was a good fit, often come back. Alverno is not just a school—it's a place that teaches women to think outside of the box and to understand themselves. It becomes a home for many people. Alverno graduates go on to become important women in their workplaces, communities, churches, and homes. The College offers students a unique opportunity to take a really good look at themselves and say, "Who am I?" and "Is this who I really want to be?"

Most people say that going to college is an investment in your future, but coming to Alverno is an investment in not only your future, but also your community's future. Almost all students who graduate from Alverno get a job within six months of graduation. Its graduates are competent, well-rounded, and have made a name both locally and internationally. At Alverno, students are pushed to analyze documents, literature, and one another. They are also encouraged to continuously self-assess and focus on their success.
