1 College Freshman

Weather: It is horrible! parking is horrible since it is in a busy city and when its cold or rainy or really hot you have to walk about six blocks just to get to one side of the campus . The campus is not close to anything and the weather sucks most of the time in Wisconsin.

1 College Freshman

Athletics: No one really cares about the sports at my school. I personally haven't been to or even heard about a sporting even .

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I like my school and what it has to offer , most of the time. i would not however if i had a second chance go tot his school.it was because i financially could not get into a better place, not because my grades weren't good. I have taken some classes and really liked the and made some new friends. they have a good tutoring if you know the right person to take to.

Off-Campus Housing: It is horrible and it is in crime infested areas. I would never want to live there and often the house and apartments re rundown and have rodent problems.

4 College Freshman

Nightlife: There are many bars to go to on water street. they are all in walking distance and it has good service and friendly people. They are very strict about the underage drinkers that try to get in which is wonderful and everyone always has a great time .

4 College Freshman

Campus Dining: They have very good food for cheap ! Also they have a lot of variety and different foods on different days. And if you do not wish to eat in the cafe , then you can go down the street to jimmy johns, buffalo wild wings and many other great food places and local favorites.

3 College Freshman

Facilities: Lots of room to be on campus and go places to do work. The libraries are generally always packed but they do have about four libraries so it comes in handy. not much of a stay on campus and hangout school .

3 College Freshman

Facilities: the academic programs i think are sometimes not taken as seriously as they should be and also we have a great social scene lots of people to make friends with, just got to know which one to make friends with .

3 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: Very strict but not to strict. They do let a lot of things go however the campus police do come fast and they are very professional.

College Freshman

Campus Housing: we do not have housing or any dorms or anything in my college .

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: The overall experience of the financial aid was ok. However it was a headache going through all of the requirements. It helped me out , but did not give me enough to actually even cover my books and some of the classes that i needed. My parents have ok jobs and make decent money but they also have four kids that they need to take care of and since i didn't receive enough financial aid to cover my classes and books it was really hard for me to pay it back with only my part time job. some of my tips are to maybe apply for financial aid and see if you could also get some type of financial aid help through your school.

3 College Freshman

Diversity: The diversity on campus it okay. Some people accept the fact that there are a lot of minorities while others aren't to fond of it. You see this when people have physical and vocal disputes. Some of the challenges of going there being a minority myself, is watching what you say and how you act because everyone is constantly judging you and it is a very uncomfortable feeling.

Local Atmosphere: The atmosphere in Milwaukee WI, is great. My school is in the heart of Milwaukee and has everything around it. there is water street which has great people ,bars, food and many other places to hang out . Also it has another college down a couple of blocks which a lot of students, including myself go to to hangout with other friends. The city has many great attractions such as summer fest in the summer and free admissions to the public museums on Mondays for everyone. They city has many malls such as Mayfair and grand avenue mall which are shopped by thousands daily and the mall has a great positive vibe and is a great way to meet new friends. There are plenty of places to workout such as planet fitness located by grand avenue mall and basketball courts and park for little kids and adults.

Most students who have made it through the majority of their years at Alverno say that they cannot imagine being anywhere else. In fact, many students who leave Alverno to go to other schools because of finances or because they didn't think Alverno was a good fit, often come back. Alverno is not just a school—it's a place that teaches women to think outside of the box and to understand themselves. It becomes a home for many people. Alverno graduates go on to become important women in their workplaces, communities, churches, and homes. The College offers students a unique opportunity to take a really good look at themselves and say, "Who am I?" and "Is this who I really want to be?"

Most people say that going to college is an investment in your future, but coming to Alverno is an investment in not only your future, but also your community's future. Almost all students who graduate from Alverno get a job within six months of graduation. Its graduates are competent, well-rounded, and have made a name both locally and internationally. At Alverno, students are pushed to analyze documents, literature, and one another. They are also encouraged to continuously self-assess and focus on their success.
