Athletics: Not Enough Involvement – I feel the athletic department is alright at Alverno, but because it's an all girl's school I feel like they don't give the athletes enough credit. I also feel like there isn't enough advertisement about different games and meets so I never know when the games are.

Campus Dining: Needs More Variety – We only have one main dining hall on campus and it has good food but there isn't much of a variety. They have the same food everyday except for one main entry that gets switched. Another problem is that it isn't open long enough. Last semester I had a couple late classes and they closed before lunch time so I wasn't able to eat dinner. I do not live on campus so I did not purchase a mean plan so I don't know how those work.

Health & Safety: Going to Alverno is my biggest goal in life. I have visited alverno and i descibed it as safe and perfect for me. Is well located and seems to be confortable.

Overall Experience: Not Your Average College Experience. Sometimes I feel like I'm missing out of the typical college experience because there aren't large house parties or Greek life and that sort of vibe to our campus, so if you're looking for that, look elsewhere. But the class sizes are small and intimate, the teachers know your name (again could be a pro or con) you start to get to know students better and there are always campus events going on, everything from Study with a Waffle Night to Global Union, a world music festival open to the public. Alverno's name pulls weight in the community and the school events are often intertwined with community events, It's nice to feel like my network is larger than just the campus; it extends to the city of Milwaukee.

Nightlife: There is not much going on at Alverno. Campus is pretty residential and they are the 2nd quietest dorms in the nation. Pretty rigid rules. If you want nightlife, head down to the Eastside by the University Wisconsin Milwaukee campus.

Computers: Accessible Technology and Resources – There is one major computer lab and multiple smaller ones in various buildings. The large lab has classrooms and smaller meeting rooms attached, meaning you can meet for group work without disturbing the studious atmosphere of the lab. You are granted about 400 free pages a semester, but most teachers allow electronic copies of homework to be turned in so I have yet to run out in 3 years of attending Alverno. They have come a long way since I started in dealing with slow network issues. The network overall is fast and reliable. Also, campus wide wifi.

Drug Safety: Not Sure – I'm really not sure because I don't stay on campus so I don't know what the campus life is like here.

Guys & Girls: Girls Only – There are only girls on this campus which make it easier to focus in class. It is also better for us to voice our opinions without the male point of view being around all the time.

Facilities: Teachers and Staffs – The teachers and staff are amazing. They help the students when ever they have a problem and is always pushing the students to achieve at their absolute best.

Transportation: The good thing about Alverno is that it is on a bus line and it's convenient.

Parking: Finding parking at Alverno is bad. It takes 10 minutes to find parking. By the time you find parking, you are late to class.I believe Alverno needs more parking lots or another structure.

Local Atmosphere: Feel Comfortable – There are a lot of different types of people at Alverno, so no matter what "group" you're a part of, or what your interests are, you'll feel comfortable here.

5 College Senior

Facilities: You feel like you belong at Alverno. The students and staff are very friendly and they treat you with respect and dignity...as a person should; you're even on a first-name basis with the faculty. There are no grades, it's a level system with validations and such. Small class sizes and a lot of activities on campus as well. I love it, it's a great school.

3 College Senior

Weather: From a Commuter – I drive from home everyday to school. Weather conditions in the winter time in Wisconsin can be brutal. It can be difficult to drive and classes are not easily cancelled. Around campus they are very good about keeping the sidewalks and roads clean from snow.

Drug Safety: Under Control – Drugs are not a large part of our atmosphere at school. We are definately not the traditional college where there are parties every night, or even during the weekends. We are a very quiet facility and the only time I have ever heard about the use of drugs was to cram for a test. I have never attempted this act but have heard girls have taken things such as aderol. Drinking is not a problem here either. We like to keep to business.

Greek Life: What's Greek? I am aware that we have one sorority, I have no idea what the name of it is. I know of no one who is involved in the sorority and have never heard of events held by the sorority. It is unfortanate. I remember as a freshman I saw a sign for the sorority and thought that it would be neat to join, but the soon the sign was gone and I don't remember hearing about the sorority ever again.

Computers: Alverno needs to update computers there is not enough to for all students a lot of nursing student are using them and others are not able to get one. They built a nursing campus so they should have them in the building along with computers for the nursing students.

Overall Experience: Small College – very easy to focus here and alot help and support.

1 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: Alverno has many silly rules that students like the break. They are strict about quiet hours and being in the dorm hallways.

2 College Sophomore

Nightlife: There are very few parties on campus. For a fun nightlife you have to go to bars and find your own parties.

3 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: Since Alverno is located in Milwaukee, there are many things to do around campus. You really have to leave campus to do anything fun since it is such a small campus. Miller Park is only a few miles away along with restaurants and shopping.

2 College Senior

Athletics: Were division 2 or 3. Ive never gone to any sporting event, nor will I ever.

4 College Senior

Diversity: There is a wide variety of ethnic diversity and sexual orientation. Its an all girl school. Very accepting. Lots of clubs for a variety of ethnic origins.

1 College Senior

Campus Dining: The Food is terrible and overpriced. You get a discount for having a mealplan and using your ID card for purchase, but for those who dont live on campus without a mealplan, its expensive.

4 Niche User

Overall Experience: I was delightfully surprised – Even though I had no idea what Alverno was about when I initially came here (ability-based grading system, no boys) I was delightfully surprised. Alverno has helped me become a well-rounded citizen who looks at the world, as well as themselves, in a reflective light instead of judging what everyone does.
