Transportation: Almost N/A – My school doesn't provide it's own shuttle, nor are their buses that have stops nearby. I personally drive and it's a 35 minute drive both ways. Room/Board too expensive.

Campus Strictness: very concern in the saftey of thier students and emplyees

Parking: Parking is awesome free structure is right across the driveway!

5 College Sophomore

Academics: There are lots offered, in fact too many to name. Overall, Alverno College is a great place to attend.

Campus Housing: I have never lived on campus, but I have friends that do. Needless to say when Ive visited them their housing arrangement was awesome. The dorms were clean, quiet, safe, and spacious.

Off-Campus Dining: Students are offered discounts so the prices are fair and it's pretty much up to the student(s) wether or not they want to eat healthy.

5 College Sophomore

Parking: We have options to park on campus or in the same neighborhood, and it's free. Its great for students, faculty, and visitors.

Computers: Alverno has labs throughout the campus and it is easy to find an open computer except at lunch time. The students receive 400 free pages a semester to print materials needed for their coarses. I have never had an issue with the software or the speed of the computers at school. Our programs are very user friendly.

Weather: There have been no major issues in the three years I have attended Alverno. They are excellent at texting weather information and school closings which has only happened once since I've been there.

Campus Strictness: Alverno has a policy that a student will be removed from a class for missing more than twice unless there is a very good reason. They also have a no tolerance policy for drinking, smoking, and drug use on campus. The nursing students are to pass a urinalysis in order to attend clinicals. Alverno also is very strict on cheating and plagerism.

3 College Senior

Off-Campus Housing: Home Owner – I live with someone who owns a home near school so I haven't researched a lot in the area. I do see many apartments located just across the street and have heard they are affordable.

Scholarships: For the most part applying for financial aid is as easy as filling out the FASFA online. It is important to do so as early as possible and to stay in contact with the financial aid office to ensure are the proper documents are received in a timely fashion. If these steps are taken your award should be ready well before the semester begins.

Weather: Alverno is located in Milwaukee and it doesn't have the best weather when it comes to winter time.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I like the electives and required coursework for the CLD program. It seems to add to the well-rounded result of the student.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: The process to enroll at Alverno isn't too task intensive. Prep for a full day of demonstrating ability in reading, speaking, listening and qualitative literacy (math).

Majors: I Wish I Had Gone Here First – Instead of attending a different university when graduating from high school, I wish I had started here! The CLD program is terrific and encourages civic and community participation from all students. Thankfully the world of Non-Profits and service related careers seems to be holding steady, even with the recession and federal programming cuts.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: I Love CLD, but Want Improvement in One Area – I love my bachelor program! Both core and elective classes progressively improve the students understanding of material and build character.

Drug Safety: Drugs Are Not a Problem – I have been at Alverno for three years and have never heard of an incidence concerning drugs and alcohol. I'm not saying people don't partake outside of school, but Alverno is strict and students here take their education seriously. The only drug I've ever heard of people taking is adder all for studying.

4 College Senior

Transportation: Buses are the only convienent form of transportation at Alverno if you don't have a car. The buses are reliable and are available to Milwaukee and surrounding cities. The busses run until midnight everyday of the year. After midnight a taxi would be the next option.

Guys & Girls: Alverno is an all girl school. The girls at Alverno can be very friendly and on the other hand there are others that just keep to themselves. Alverno is a school that requires a lot of group work so most of the times the girls get alone very well. The girls dress approriately and very classy. Most of the girls are beautiful. There are always group of girls going out and having fun.

Weather: The weather on campus changes with the season. In the winter the snow is very bad and very very cold. I commute to classes so I have wake up in the early cold mornings with my daughter. There are times I have to clean the snow off my car and be on the free during heavy snow falls. The campus is often clean and available for the students and staffs. During there winter seasons their is not much out doors activites like the spring and the summer seasons.

College Junior

Nightlife: Not Sure of Party Life on Campus – I do not live on campus so I am sure what goes on after classes.

5 College Junior

Health & Safety: Safe on Campus – I always felt safe on campus. The campus securities are always walking or driving to make sure eveyone is safe. The securities are in the hall ways, around the buildings and in the parking structures. Due to their high and frequent presences I always feel safe especally when I am on campus late at nights. I can recalled one night when my car battery died I was able to call the security office and I got help within minutes and my car back running.

5 College Sophomore

Academics: Most student and Faculty see Academics as being the TOP Priority for each student enrolled. There is resource centers that help student in almost every subject, and it is also easy to get a tutor.

5 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: We All Feel Safe. Security is on staff 24hours of every day. We are all given thier contact information so we can reach them at any time of the day.

Most students who have made it through the majority of their years at Alverno say that they cannot imagine being anywhere else. In fact, many students who leave Alverno to go to other schools because of finances or because they didn't think Alverno was a good fit, often come back. Alverno is not just a school—it's a place that teaches women to think outside of the box and to understand themselves. It becomes a home for many people.
