Campus Dining: Food Is Well Done! The food is quite repetitive but fortunately there are set hours during the day when meals change from tacos to turkeys.

Diversity: People from Everyone on Earth – There is a wide variety of races throughout Alverno. The great thing is that everyone is open to new things and do not migrate themselves into religion or race. I have an international roomate from South Korea and we both have similar majors. So usually, my roomate peers and also my peers are having study sessions and learning new languages.

5 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: Safe and Serious – Alverno takes the safety and health of students very seriously. To that end, Alverno is a smoke, substance and alcohol free campus with access to wellness programs, health center and counseling.

Academics: More Than Memorization – Alverno pushes its 8 abilities allowing the student to really guide their education and results. Being able to leave Alverno with the ability to demonstrate all that you have learned is a much richer experience than graduating with untested knowledge. I am building a portfolio that exhibits work I have completed and areas I have proven capable.

4 College Sophomore

Computers: Accessible and Efficient – Alverno recently underwent a technology firm switch. I haven't noticed any major issue since the switch. The upgrade to Moodle has made interaction between instructors and other students much easier.

Off-Campus Housing: Stay Anywhere – Milwaukee has tons of housing from less expensive studios on the east side to near campus housing at a higher end. The freeway system make campus pretty close regardless of your location.

5 College Sophomore

Facilities: Technology at the Tips of Your Fingers – Alverno has an excellent technology center with student assistance. Labs, Libraries, the Mug and the Commons (cafe)were created with the student in mind feeding both the brain and body. Alverno also offers various sports activities, intramurals and academic endeavors.

Transportation: Central Location – Good location in close proximity to all store needed for student survival. Public transportation does its job, but traffic from Miller Stadium can impede travel. Also travel is not as modern as other metropolitan cities (ie. Chicago, DC) no rail or any kind

3 College Senior

Scholarships: Don't Always Get the Correct Answer – Alverno is pretty good about telling you everything you need to know about financial aid, but sometimes it feels like they could have told you more - mostly because student workers need to be educated more.

Transportation: Buses are available to get to and from the college. Personally, I drive to and from school each day and am very pleased to always having a parking spot even if it is further away at times. Alverno has a ton of options for parking and it makes getting to class on time very easy.

3 College Junior

Facilities: Clean, Safe, Friendly, and Grade Free – At Alverno we don't have grades. All classes are pass/fail. I think this works to our advantage, because in the real world someone isn't going to say you did a C+ job. They will tell you that something is wrong and you need to improve it. At Alverno, they teach you this, and you keep improving upon things until you get them as good as you can. Not just good enough to pass. The teachers work with you in order to help you understand what you are doing wrong, and what you can do to help fix your mistakes.

5 College Junior

Parking: There is always parking at Alverno there are parking lots and one big parking structure.

4 College Junior

Academics: Teachers Are Great – At Alverno you have to be prepared for a lot of work.

2 College Junior

Nightlife: Nothing Really Happens – Alverno is located in a very quiet community, night life is quiet.

4 College Junior

Academics: School Is Great – Alverno is an awesome school its a great place to be the students and staff make sure to help you to their fullest potential.

5 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: There is a no drug policy at school. I have not scene any of this activity.

3 College Sophomore

Nightlife: I am under 21 so i cant go to the clubs. There are many around for students over 21. Parties in the dorm are fun and safer

3 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: Milwaukee is a large city. Other colleges are near bye. Go to a baseball game to see the Brewers its a half hour away. Mall and shopping with in blocks of the school. Also visit the cheese castle.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: the freshman dorms have no air condiotioning so the are very hot till winter

5 College Junior

Facilities: Our school has many programs and clubs all students can belong to. It isn't hard to sign up or get involved and it's strongly encouraged. Social life at Alverno is very open, everyone talks to everyone and there aren't cliques like high school.

3 College Junior

Greek Life: We Are One – Nobody at school stands out from another based on race, ethnicity, gender or religion. It is an independent, all girl school in which everyone is equal and has equal rights.

1 College Junior

Transportation: Almost N/A – My school doesn't provide it's own shuttle, nor are their buses that have stops nearby. I personally drive and it's a 35 minute drive both ways. Room/Board too expensive.

5 College Junior

Campus Strictness: very concern in the saftey of thier students and emplyees

5 College Junior

Parking: Parking is awesome free structure is right across the driveway!

5 College Sophomore

Academics: There are lots offered, in fact too many to name. Overall, Alverno College is a great place to attend.

Most students who have made it through the majority of their years at Alverno say that they cannot imagine being anywhere else. In fact, many students who leave Alverno to go to other schools because of finances or because they didn't think Alverno was a good fit, often come back. Alverno is not just a school—it's a place that teaches women to think outside of the box and to understand themselves. It becomes a home for many people.
