Majors: The internship at Alverno College is excellent. Even though most college do not require students to do an internship, Alverno College require students to do at least one internship in their major. I think that this is an excellent idea because it gives students the opportunities to explore in a professional field to see if the career that they are seeking for is truly suited for them or not. I really appreciate the encouragement that Alverno offers for internship and the use of an internship for the students.

Local Atmosphere: Alverno College has a very nice neighborhood. It is very peaceful and clean. But off campus, there really isn't much to do near campus. Most entertaining activities available are off campus, such as the shopping center, or dining in at restaurants near by. Also most fun things to do are usually down town or at a far distance from school.

Diversity: There are people from many different ethnic and religions background at Alverno College. I feel that Alverno College, being an all female school, is very diverse. There are people from different ethnic backgrounds and I could see that everyone here is very accepting and helpful of one another. Also, students, staffs and faculties are willing to learn and exposed more about other religion and ethnic diversity.

Local Atmosphere: Milwaukee is fairly large which means there's plenty of new places to go all the time. There are a number of great shopping, eating, and entertainment places near campus. There are always students willing to drive people around as well as pretty good and reliable transportation system.

Scholarships: I got a good scholarship award when I started but with the price of college going up every year I've had more and more to cover on my own. I however was able to renew my scholarship when I needed to extend my education by two years because of a switch in majors.

Most students who have made it through the majority of their years at Alverno say that they cannot imagine being anywhere else. In fact, many students who leave Alverno to go to other schools because of finances or because they didn't think Alverno was a good fit, often come back. Alverno is not just a school—it's a place that teaches women to think outside of the box and to understand themselves. It becomes a home for many people. Alverno graduates go on to become important women in their workplaces, communities, churches, and homes. The College offers students a unique opportunity to take a really good look at themselves and say, "Who am I?" and "Is this who I really want to be?"

Most people say that going to college is an investment in your future, but coming to Alverno is an investment in not only your future, but also your community's future. Almost all students who graduate from Alverno get a job within six months of graduation. Its graduates are competent, well-rounded, and have made a name both locally and internationally.
