Weather: The walk to the school from parking is king of far. We have a lot of snow most of the winter, so you need to wear boots all the time.

3 College Student

Parking: I think they should add parking, if you have a later class there it is very hard to find a spot.

2 College Student

Athletics: It does not seem that many students take part in athletics offered at the school.

4 College Student

Drug Safety: I have not heard of any troubles of drug use on campus. I really do not think there are many students that take part in taking drugs.

3 College Student

Majors: You have to take a lot of extra classes before you can even start taking classes that have to do with your major. I think they make you spend a lot more time in school than you have to.

2 College Student

Majors: The work load is very heavy. It is hard to be in school full time and also work. There are so many classes you have to take that are not relevant to your major.

4 College Student

Diversity: There is a lot of diversity on campus. A lot of the classes offered at Alverno is about diversity and culture.

College Student

Greek Life: I have not heard of our school having a Greek life at all. If we did there is no advertising or special housing for it.

3 College Student

Health & Safety: It is comfortable seeing security officers walking around campus. There has been men seen grabbing girls that were walking to the bus stop or parking structure.

3 College Student

Local Atmosphere: It is nice being so close to Milwaukee. There is so much more to do there.

4 College Student

Academics: There are a lot of options for you at the school. A lot of people come as undeclared and are able to find a major or minor they want to pursue.

3 College Student

Academics: My major is nursing. You have to take a lot of liberal art classes before you start taking actual nursing classes. To graduate within your four years you have to go full time. Some of the rooms are re done and look nice, but others are very old and have not been updated for many years.

3 College Student

Campus Strictness: They are good with visitors you can whoever you want come. The parking policies are very strict. The security checks all the lots and parking structure to make sure everyone has the right permits or passes. Most teachers are strict with attendance, you usually cannot be late for classes. If you miss three or more classes, the teacher has the option of dropping you from the class.

3 College Student

Off-Campus Dining: There is a few good options for food, but most are fast food restaurants. We get discounts and two of the fast food places close to campus. You would have to drive closer to downtown Milwaukee to go to the more nice restaurants.

2 College Student

Guys & Girls: It is an all girls school, so there is not meeting guys at the school. Most girls already have boyfriends and they can come visit. Most girls wear sweat pants and comfy close to class. Some girls do dress up though. I feel like a lot of people at the school are going for nursing, but I have been learning about other majors girls are taking.

3 College Student

Scholarships: I feel like I get less and less financial aid each semester. Some people in the financial aid office are no help.

2 College Student

Campus Dining: They are currently re- doing the dining area, but before it was very plain and crowded.

2 College Student

Transportation: I think you need a car for the campus. Otherwise you go to the store you would have to walk to the bus stop and use public transportation.

5 College Freshman

Diversity: I mean this school has students from all over the globe and different racial background, ethnicity and religion and that's what I love about it.

3 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: The school is very strict on a few topic but otherwise understanding when behavior is appropriate.

4 College Freshman

Drug Safety: Absolutely no drugs or alcohol on campus. I only see a couple people smoke but far from the campus because it's a smoke free campus. I don't even remember the first or last time drugs were offered on campus at all.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Lots of restaurants and fast food joint. Maybe a 5 minutes drive from campus. They don't offer students discounts but are conveniently located.

College Freshman

Nightlife: I don't stay on campus so I really don't know what goes on there after hours however from the neighborhood and I can say not much goes on at night. The school is far from bars and clubs but they is a lot of restaurants and fast food not too far.

4 College Freshman

Majors: I'm a little worried about this but I guess they helped you find a place to go and do your internship. they partner with different companies depending on your major and they help find a place for you to to your internship.

2 College Freshman

Majors: I haven't even started my program yet because of all the prerequisites that this school wants you to take. It's a little annoying.

Most students who have made it through the majority of their years at Alverno say that they cannot imagine being anywhere else. In fact, many students who leave Alverno to go to other schools because of finances or because they didn't think Alverno was a good fit, often come back. Alverno is not just a school—it's a place that teaches women to think outside of the box and to understand themselves. It becomes a home for many people. Alverno graduates go on to become important women in their workplaces, communities, churches, and homes. The College offers students a unique opportunity to take a really good look at themselves and say, "Who am I?" and "Is this who I really want to be?"

Most people say that going to college is an investment in your future, but coming to Alverno is an investment in not only your future, but also your community's future. Almost all students who graduate from Alverno get a job within six months of graduation. Its graduates are competent, well-rounded, and have made a name both locally and internationally. At Alverno, students are pushed to analyze documents, literature, and one another. They are also encouraged to continuously self-assess and focus on their success.
