3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: Being a private school they have more money to give and are willing to work with students but it is still expensive and I still require loans and outside scholarships to help me pay for college.

2 College Freshman

Scholarships: It's hard because my school is so expensive and my parents can't get loans. I am basically fighting for my education because I can't afford to go.

3 College Junior

Scholarships: Alvernia only has about three or four scholarships on their website available to students. The first scholarship which most freshman receive is if you are coming from a Catholic school; however, you only receive that the first year you attend Alvernia and do not receive it the rest of the years.

4 College Senior

Scholarships: The financial aid department, at Alvernia University, provides fantastic assistance. They are in touch every step of the way, sending out reminders to apply, providing help with any issues, and always there to let you know if you need anything. I only qualified for a couple state grants, which I received from applying for financial aid, as well as a few loans. Staying in touch with the financial aid department, and asking about any concerns is the best way to be sure your financial aid is on the right track.

4 College Senior

Scholarships: The financial aid I received were good, but I wished I could get more help instead of using more loans. The people I go to get information and ask questions were great helpers. They don't really stress you to look for more scholarships or grants to pay your tuition, but they do tell you where to look for them. If you want to speak to someone in the financial aid office, I suggest you ask if anyone is available and make an appointment because the wait can be very long.
