4 College Junior

Majors: I am majoring in Biology. I hope to eventually attend a graduate school in order to become a Physician Assistant. The workload can be overwhelming sometimes especially while working part-time during school. The Chemistry and Biology laboratories are well up-to-date. These facilities are checked weekly to make sure that the laboratory environment is safe. I was recently chosen to participate in an internship program at the Reading Hospital with the help of Alvernia University staff.

Majors: I have not experienced an internship yet. As I have stated previously, I will soon begin a Scribe Internship Program at the Reading Hospital. I have been notified that I will be working and training at the Reading Hospital for the next 18 weeks during the Spring semester of 2014. I will be responsible for taking notes for the doctors as well as retrieving lab results for the doctors. This would be excellent exposure to the medical field and the medical atmosphere. I had a little trouble contacting the advisor of the Biology internship at Alvernia University.

Facilities: The facilities are renovated or updated quite frequently. The aesthetics of the facilities of the library and the student centers are relaxing and emulate a pleasant atmosphere. There are many activities that occur throughout the campus all-year round. Many of the campus activities are centered around fundraising for disease awareness such as breast cancer awareness or multiple sclerosis awareness.

Campus Dining: As stated before I am a commuter. I generally do not eat food from Alvernia's cafeteria. I attempt to save money for school. Therefore, I chose to snack on vending machine food between classes and do not eat any meals until I return home from school. However, I have sat in the dining areas, which are well kept and quite pleasant to catch up on some homework.

Nightlife: I am a commuter. Therefore, I do not really attend any parties or clubs at night on-campus. I do not have any knowledge about what goes on during the evening and night hours because all of my classes have been scheduled during the morning and afternoon hours. I have my own vehicle, therefore, I do not rely on school transportation around campus.

Nightlife: There isn't a lot of underage nightlife, except maybe the hookah bar

Overall Experience: I've met great people, and I love the small environment

Off-Campus Dining: The better food choices are about a 15min drive away.

Off-Campus Dining: There are some options of off campus dining within walking distance of the school however in order to find more diversity, a car would be a necessity. There is a mall within a 15 minute drive where there would be more choices for dining and the costs would not be prohibitive.

Guys & Girls: I didn't go to college to check out the guys and girls so this is a tough question for me. I am a non-traditional student and could be the mother to most of my "peers". Most people are friendly and look average for college kids to me.
They dress like college students which would of course have been unacceptable when I was in college when I first started many years ago. I try and stay out of the drama of relationships and I don't think I'll be finding one myself.

Facilities: The campus is beautiful and there are plenty of activities. The library is state of the art and has plenty of space no matter whether you are working on a private project and need an independent desk or if you are doing a group project and need a group presentation room. There are several eateries where students can get together to meet and grab a cup of coffee or a sandwich while relaxing in between classes.

Facilities: One of the really interesting things about my campus is its age and history. I am very interested in history and the age of the buildings and the materials they are created from is very unique. My college is a Catholic University and although I am not Catholic, I can appreciate the historical details. We still have nuns living in a convent on part of our campus. We are also home to a school for police cadets so safety is not an issue.

Off-Campus Housing: I think the off campus house availability is at a premium near my campus. I am a commuter and I live at home but I live about half an hour from the campus. Since the availability is minimum, I think the cost far outweighs the value of the safety available on campus. If you don't live close enough to live at home I think campus housing is a better value.

Guys & Girls: The majority of students are about getting there education.

5 College Senior
