4 College Freshman

Greek Life: One of the best things on campus

4 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: Small town feel with great support of local businesses

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: The financial aid office, was extremely helpful in finding me the most aid I could get.

4 College Freshman

Computers: Wonderful, technology, top of the line

4 College Freshman

Majors: It was very easy to get into my program. The most important criteria for admission would include a unique application, how involved you are with your school, somewhat on grades, athleticism if becoming a student-athlete, etc. The process is very standard with other schools for application. Tips include truly putting yourself in the essay so you stand out to admissions.

4 College Freshman

Majors: I enjoy my program very much because I am very passionate in what I am studying and given the large workload, I like to keep myself busy. My major is very unique compared to other schools (IPHS- Integrated Physiology and Health Sciences), so it mainly focuses on human sciences. With this major, I am more likely to get a job in the future years because it is so unique and also get internships during and after I graduate.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: Because the tuition is unreasonably high, it is important to get financial aid. My school accepts many forms of financial aid and they are very easy to work with when dealing with financial issues.

4 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: Campus makes me feel very safe (mainly because it's very small). Very strict policies for students involved with drinking and substance abuse. Main focus is primarily academics.

4 College Freshman

Academics: Although the workload is very strenuous and the classes have to be followed in a very specific order, you have the opportunity of getting several internships, having jobs with the professor, and having the opportunity to work in the cadaver lab. Overall very unique

5 College Freshman

Academics: The professors are very personable, registration is very easy, the study options allow you to do volunteer and specific classes around the world, tutors are always available, the library is the popular study area; even if the workload is plentiful for any major.

3 College Freshman

Drug Safety: People usually stash their alcohol very well or smoke marijuana off campus so they won't get caught. Very strict policy if found with drugs or alcohol (if underage)

4 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: Lots of parades, cute downtown shops, very safe, plenty of trails for biking or running. Overall positive community.

3 College Freshman

Nightlife: Very few parties over the weekend; most people go home on weekends.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: Always available, expensive parking, very safe.

3 College Freshman

Campus Dining: We have two places to eat on campus, Saga and Joe's. You can use your meal plan at both places but you can also use Munch Money at Joe's.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: If I could do it all over again, I would still pick Alma College. Everyone here is so nice and since we are small, we come together during hard times. I like how small campus is. I don't have to walk far to get anywhere.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Most places to eat off-campus are fast food restaurants. We only have a few off-campus sit down restaurants. But they are very good places to eat.

5 College Freshman

Academics: There are many different classes offered here. The professors are great and they really know what they are teaching. Depending on the classes you take, your workload will be greater.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: There is almost no crime on campus. I have never heard of anything being stolen. Campus is very safe, it is in a small town.

3 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: Cheating is what the professors are the strictest about. If you get caught cheating, you get a zero on the assignment/paper/test and you could be kicked out of school.

4 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: There are many relationships on campus between athletes. About half of the people wear sweats to class and the other half look nice.

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: A tip I have for getting financial aid at Alma is to get good grades in high school and apply for as many scholarships as you can.

3 College Freshman

Drug Safety: There are some students that make it obvious that they are drinking but it's because they want everyone to see how careless they are. If you don't drink, there is some peer pressure to drink but if you don't want to all you have to do is say no. Underage drinking is a big deal here. They enforce the policy if you are caught in your dorm room drinking.

5 College Freshman

Facilities: I think one thing that sets us apart from other schools is how close professors and students are. All of my professors know me by name and they care about how I'm doing in class.

5 College Freshman

Facilities: Student life on campus is seriously the best. There is always stuff going on for students to be a part of. We are a school of Scottish heritage so we try to do as many Scottish traditions as we can.
