5 College Senior

Campus Resources: most of the programs that it offers are very helpful. such as the lending library, EOPS, CAN and STUDENT HEALTH SERVICES

5 College Senior

Campus Resources: i love all the resources that the campus offers, as well as all the lovely staff that is always very helpful

Overall Experience: I wouldn't really describe my school as having any experiences although I did learn quite a lot from my school. The transfer rates are amazing but it is simply a school to go to not to make memories. If you want to save money go here.

3 College Sophomore

Career Services: My community college is really for transfer students and I know people have great transfer rates. They seem to get jobs afterwards.

3 College Sophomore

Student Body: My school consists of working people who usually have a full-time job or families. Many of the younger students have jobs and are working hard for an education.

Tuition & Financial Aid: It's not really a problem with my school, but the state of California. The increased tuition on colleges and universities make it difficult, but that doesn't mean that the school itself can't try and step up. I'm paying three-times the amount I paid when I first started, and I'm getting the same quality of education and resources. The school has started to improve in some areas, but not enough.

Overall Experience: I like my school. I've had some problems with the administration and their curriculum is lacking is some places. However, they have all the classes I need to transfer to a university. So, they have everything I need, just not everything I want.

3 College Senior

Student Body: My school mainly consists of kids just out of high school or adults trying to learn additional skills. I don't socialize with the student body, so I don't know if they're friendly or not. I've only had a couple of problems with classmates in the time I've been here.

2 College Freshman

Career Services: This grade I assume is average because depending on your career you will find good programs for that career. Yet it is limited because it is a community college.

Academic Experience: A Lot of Good Resources on Campus – If you are having any trouble in a class, they have many resources on campus to help. There is a tutoring center as well as many help labs in science and math. It is very easy to get the help you need.

4 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: Great Flexibility – There are many classes offered at different times at my convenience. It has one of the highest level of transfer students, so I am optimistic that I will have a clean easy transfer to a university.

5 College Junior

Campus Resources: No Problems – Hancock has never had any network problems for as long as I have been there - since 2008. Most teachers for online classes are very understanding about connection losses for student personal computers and allow any tests to be re-taken.

4 College Junior

Academic Experience: Opposite of Impacted – The majority of engineer majors are mechanical and civil. Biomedical and Chemical have a decent following. Materials Engineering isn't a popular major at Allan Hancock College. They still have all the transferable classes I need, but there isn't as much emphasis in the classes towards materials so much as mechanical.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Allan Hancock College has great prices for the level of education provided here. Some professors actually grade you as if you were attending a University. I feel like I'll be prepared when I transfer. The financial aid process can either be swift or seem never ending. If you're sure to complete and submit everything early or on time, then it will be a breeze. If you procrastinate, then you'll have to wait for submission to process and then there will be another wait for the money to be distributed to your account. Allan Hancock is great about reimbursing any out-of-pocket expenses you may incur.

Overall Experience: Convenient class options – The office is quick to send you paperwork and I havent had many problems getting a person on the phone when I need help. I'm able to take several of my classes online and that helps cut back on my gas expenses and gives me time to work. My Biology class is on the Lompoc campus and my teacher so far is proving to be great. My only complaint is about the Bulldog card... Higher One is not a customer friendly establishment and I wish the college would find a different way to send us our refunds.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: The facilities here are great! The bathrooms are always clean and if not the janitor will be right there to clean it. The classrooms are always clean as well and a great size for all types of courses. Eveything outside the buildings is amazing as well. The grass is always cut and the flowers and plants are always taken care of.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: Campus Computers – There are many computers available to the students. The internet is not slow unless everyone is trying to access the same site. The hours of operation are great! Printing is easy, convenient, and also cheap unless you print something wrong. You don't really need a personal computer because there are many computers on campus that have all of the programs needed for any and all classes.

3 College Sophomore

Tuition & Financial Aid: Pay on Time – If you don't pay your tuition on time for your classes they will drop you from the class. Having this makes it difficult for some students to get enough money in that short period of time. But it does make sure you pay on time and there are different payment options as well. Financial aid is great! They help out so many different students who need the help.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: The teachers on campus are great! Some aren't the best at teaching you everything you need to know, but if you read the book you are fine. Sometimes you get a harder teacher and it makes the class time consuming and difficult but you do learn many different things.

College Sophomore

Online Courses: First Course – I haven't taken an online course before so the one I am enrolled in for this semester will be my first.

College Sophomore

Career Services: I haven't had the opportunity to use the services but I have also heard nothing good about our services on campus.

4 College Junior

Student Body: Always There to Help – At an academic event that I atteneded, the student body did not only give me the answer I was looking for they also showed me how to find the information for further reference. They are always willing to help me there.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: Such an Easy Transition – Some personal things were happening in my life at the time of going back to college, but the teachers were so understanding and supportive. They made me want to be at school.

4 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: Awesome People – They explained everything so easily and it what they told me to do wasn't time consuming or hard to do.

4 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: I have been out of school for awhile, and the teachers seem to work with me pretty well.
