Campus Strictness: Our school of nursing is very structured. We have a definite dress code and code of conduct. We must maintain a C average or better, we must complete all of our clinicals on time. I see our campus police patrolling daily. The Campus is accessible and safe.

Diversity: Overall, Alcorn is very diverse and celebrate's its diversity in many different ways. I applied for a diversity grant last semester, but did not receive one. I will apply again when they open applications.

Campus Strictness: everything is pretty much free and you can do what you want but they take where you park and parking decals very serious and its like parking decals go up every week and if you don't have one then you can constantly get a ticket if you come on campus without one.

3 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: i gave that grade because everyone is friendly no matter what type of person they are and that means alot to me

3 College Sophomore

Academics: The academics are great if you get the right teachers. The best place to study is in the library.

3 College Sophomore

Facilities: Student life on campus could be a little better. I think we could use more things to do in our student union.

3 College Sophomore

Facilities: There is really nothing that set us apart from other schools but that we are in the woods and there's not really to much to do, but I do love my shcool.

3 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: I relatively safe on campus because if something happens the campus police is there. They are there if there are big crowds but not everyday basis. They do there job, but they could be a little better on crime and not irrelevant things like parking or decals.

3 College Sophomore

Nightlife: Usually, I'm finishing some homework. But nightlife is fun.

2 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: there not much at Vicksburg has to offer but at least you can get what you need from walmart and plases like that

1 College Sophomore

Transportation: we only have on small shuttle bus and it only runs every thirty minutes. It use to take us to walmart on the weekends for the ones who don't have a car last year but they cut that out. It also stops after 4:30 so if you have night classes you have to walk

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: There are not many places to go on campus, so you have to go about 30 minutes away to get anything.

5 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Living on campus is easier access to school but can sometimes be difficult to get use to. Trying to study while parties are going on in the parking lot isn't the best environment.

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: Off campus options near the school are great. Its feel good to eat something different every once in a while.

3 College Junior

Athletics: I think that it is ok. The students of this school will support the teams til the end.

1 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: It is VERY easy I get involved or get access to the drug scene at Alcorn State University.

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: Greek life on our campus is nothing special. Some Greek organizations feel that they are better than the other students.

1 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: There is no of off campus housing through the school.

2 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: There are just five places you can eat at other than the cafateria. I would only recomand three. The three that has not made me sick after eating it is Starbucks,Wing Stop, and CJs. These places have a good verity of food and has a clean resturant.

4 College Junior

Academics: I love the Ag Animal Science major at my school. We do have a farm that makes the labs more hands on with the animals. We also go off campus to see different things and to get job experiences and to learn. We also go out of the United States every two years or so to see how other countrys run their farms. We also get alot of job offering once we graduate.

3 College Junior

Campus Dining: The places around campus are good. I suggest not buying a huge meal plan. Flex dollars are better because you can use them at the places around campus which is far better than the cafeteria. the cafeteria food isn't bad but it could be better and you probably prefer pizza hut over cafeteria food anyway.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: The closest off-campus dining is in the next city which is about 20 minutes away. Since this is a small place, there aren't many places to choose from. Most people go to the Sonic in Port Gibson. The service is a tad bit slow but the food is great and is always fresh. I guess that takes up for the slow service.

5 College Junior

Academics: All the professors I've had have been interested in the students' passing of the class. Some of them don't just want you to pass the class, they want you to learn something that you can take with you for a lifetime.

3 College Junior

Academics: I believe alot of our classes can be taught differently so that we could learn instead of memorizing for the test and for getting after the class is completed. I also think the registration process can be less hected if they were more organized with their work. I should not have to turn it the same paper work several times before I can be registered. I also thing to many people are handling the fincail aid papers. Every year I have had i different person handle my aid. I think the school can do better if they realy look at the people they are hiring and asking the proper questions in the interveiw porsion.

3 College Junior

Scholarships: Apply as early as possible. Try to meet all deadlines because if you wait until the last minute it will be a hassle standing in line. Stay in touch with your advisor to make sure you have turned in all forms.
