Athletics: Varsity sports have lots of participants. Honestly though, I have little interest in most of them, and neither do any of my friends. You go to support friends mainly.

Niche User

Athletics: About half of Albion students play either a varsity sport or IM sport. I don't do either, as I have never been very into sports. But they're fun to watch, especially basketball and football.

Niche User

Athletics: Albion is a Division III school in athletics, but sports are, for some reason, a very important aspect of the campus in terms of spending and recruiting. IM sports are always filled with varsity players, and are generally not much fun.

Niche User

Athletics: There are a lot of athletes here, but the sports themselves aren't that big of an event. Football and basketball games are the most attended, though I don't go to either very often. IM sports are fairly big, and lots of students participate in three, four, or five each year, some of them at the same time. IM sports really aren't too hard to get into or too difficult to play, so lots of people enjoy them.

Niche User

Athletics: I don't really know much about varsity sports, but I think
it is a lot like watching really good high school sports because of the smaller size and lower competition level. They are still fun to watch, though.

Niche User

Athletics: Basketball, football, and sometimes baseball are big on campus, and IM sports are huge. Tons of people play IM sports and really like it. I would say only about half of people actually go to the football game, but a lot of people tailgate.

Niche User

Athletics: About a third of students are involved in at least one sport. IM sports are also very popular. I know several people who are always involved in an IM sport. IM sports are great because with really popular sports like soccer, they break the teams into divisions based on skill, so you're always playing against people who are as good as you. I like that they have some unique IM sports like dodgeball and ultimate Frisbee for those who just want to have some fun.

Niche User

Athletics: Varsity sports are fairly big on campus. Lots of students participate, but there are also a great deal of students who do not. IM sports are huge, and they tend to draw in a variety of different people, which is pretty cool.

Guys & Girls: They call them `Albion goggles.' They're just like beer goggles, but for Albion. Don't worry, you'll get a pair if you stay long enough.

Niche User

Guys & Girls: The guys are alright. I guess they are good-looking if you are really into the jock type. If you are looking for something other than that, you have to look hard to find it, but it does exist. The girls are basically the same, but most of them have the cheerleader look. I guess it depends what you are looking for, but there are a bunch of attractive and unattractive people all at the same time.

Niche User

Guys & Girls: There are a lot of pretty girls at Albion. There are some hot guys at Albion, but not enough. Whatever you're into, you'll meet some interesting people, that's for sure.

Niche User

Guys & Girls: The guys are mostly jerks, and the girls are very well-kept. There are very few homosexual students on campus, and the selection is poor. There are attractive people on campus if you look hard enough.

Niche User

Guys & Girls: There isn't much of a gay population, but it's growing. Physically speaking, the stereotypical Albion male and female students are blonde, tan, and fit.

Niche User

Guys & Girls: The guys here are probably the college norm. Many of them are preppy and from wealthy families. The girls are much the same. However, there are plenty of students from middle-class families who are here thanks to financial aid, and they don't appear to be so preppy and well-off.

Niche User

Guys & Girls: It kind of feels like a lot of all-American guys and girls congregated at Albion. Basically, all the stereotypes still exist, although they are slightly diluted.

Niche User

Guys & Girls: My initial reaction is to say that the vast majority of students at Albion are rich white kids from the suburbs of Detroit, and in many respects that is a true statement. However, there are all kinds of different-looking guys and girls. There is bound to be someone that you find attractive. Either way, it won't take terribly long to determine that given that there are less than 2,000 of us to choose from.

Niche User

Guys & Girls: I would say that there are more attractive girls on campus than guys, and most attractive guys join fraternities. Albion is a very preppy campus, and most students are usually well-dressed.

Niche User

Guys & Girls: There's a variety of people on campus. Most people are pretty laid-back in their looks. You definitely don't need to dress up to go to class. If there's a type of person you're looking for, you'll probably find that type here.

Niche User

Guys & Girls: Like any place, some are hot, some are not, and some are in-between. Most that are hot, nice, and intelligent are already taken.

Diversity: Albion's about as diverse as you'd expect from an expensive, private, rural, Midwestern school with business as a popular major.

Niche User

Diversity: Diversity is pathetic to non-existent. They're trying hard, though.

Niche User

Diversity: The student body is not very diverse at all, but the administration is working on improving diversity. This past year was much more diverse than the year before that. The faculty, on the other hand, is already pretty diverse.

Niche User

Diversity: Though there are various minorities on campus, there aren't really a whole lot. I feel like Albion is striving to become more diverse, and hopefully as the years continue, the school will become more mixed.

Niche User

Diversity: Albion is not diverse enough. I'm not just talking about race, which, while important, is not the only factor to be considered when striving for diversity. I wish that Albion students and professors had more geographic, political, ethnic, religious, intellectual, sexual, and economic diversity. The school needs to make a greater effort to recruit more international students.

Niche User

Diversity: We have very few people of color, very few homosexuals, very few people from low-income families, and very few people from the city of Albion. We have problems with discrimination against minorities on campus, which have gone largely unmitigated.

Overall, Albion College is great for a number of reasons. The small campus makes it easy to make friends immediately and meet new people. While living in Albion can be boring at times, making the most of it is sometimes what will leave you with the most memories. There is a sense of community on Albion's campus that is hard to duplicate anywhere else. This isn't to say that everyone gets along, but there is a certain bond between all Albion students.

Albion's liberal arts education is something that also seems to be unique to the College. The professors are approachable, and their excitement for their courses is infectious. Even when you're taking a class that is not related to your major, you appreciate what you learn and are proud of what you've learned in looking back. Beneath the exterior sometimes, Albion is just a down-home friendly kind of place, and a lot of students seek comfort in that and learn to love where they are.
