5 College Junior

Campus Housing: The school offers four mansions to dorm in and one typical styled dorm building. Since the campus is very small, if you live on campus, you will know everyone else that lives there too. It is a little pricy to live on campus, but you deffinitely pay for a good experience.

5 College Junior

Parking: There are always spots available. Parking is completely free. If you live on campus, there really is no need to have a car. You can get to any building in less than 10 minutes.

3 College Junior

Campus Strictness: There are times when it can be strict and not so much other instances. For example, if it is going to snow, students are not allowed to be parked in certain parking lots. We receive emails and newsletters are posted everywhere. If you park there, your car will get towed. That is the only time they are strict with parking. Other than that, you can park in any parking lot at anytime.

College Junior

Greek Life: We do not have any Greek life on campus. If a student would like to join a Greek house, they are allowed to join some of Yale's.

3 College Junior

Scholarships: Things could run smoother in the office but over all, they always find ways to help me receive more money. It is a process but the end result is always good.

5 College Junior

Transportation: We are able to use the Yale Shuttle which is free. This is how most students who do not have a car on campus get around. It is very convenient. The stop is near the entrance of campus.

5 College Junior

Computers: We have six computer labs on campus. All have free printing. There is always a computer available and if not, you can rent a laptop from the school.

3 College Junior

Academics: The professors are usually people who work in the business they teach. This semester I am being taught Business Law by an actual lawyer. There is a lot to learn but I think because the teachers are part time and have a lot going on in their own lives, the homework is very light.

4 College Junior

Computers: Computer Labs are on the third floor furthest away from the dorms. There is only one tiny elevator in the building so it is difficult to climb all those stairs but no one is ever using the labs at night.

5 College Junior

Parking: Their is no cost to park as an off-campus student and there is plenty of parking for night classes. I am not sure what the day time is like.

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: New Haven has a lot of restaurants, however it is a far distance from the campus itself. We share the city with Yale which is where all of the good shopping and restaurants are.

3 College Junior

Academics: I find that being a part of the Adult degree program the classes are average and the work is too light to prove you have mastered the content. This semester I have no homework assignments other than reading and only take tests to justify my grade. I would rather practice the skill I want to learn through homework instead of possibly studying the wrong material.

Academics: work load is heavy and must be completed can't miss class or you will fail

Parking: No complaints are school is pretty small so it's never too crazy

Majors: Albertus Magnus is a student centered college. It is in a neighborhood so that makes it feel very home-like. The staff is extremely helpful and caring which is a big plus!

Majors: I'm very happy with the program, because my focus is in healthcare. yes, i would do it again with no questions ask. My career goal is to help sick patients the best way i can to make sure that they are getting the best care possible. I'm confident that i will find a job when i graduate.

Campus Strictness: The campus is pretty laid back. Students don't get in trouble too often. Drinking on campus when you are underage is frowned upon and if you get caught drinking, there will be consequences to your actions. Resident Assistants do rounds around the building and you could get written up.

Campus Dining: There is a wide variety of food to choose from. The grill is open every day with hamburgers, hotdogs, etc. There's also 2 main meals, pizza, pasta, deli meat bar, a salad bar and bagels/ cereals are always out. There is always something to eat even if you don't like the main meal

5 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: There are so many places to go to eat in New Haven. Albertus Magnus College is also close to the boarder line of Hamden, CT, which also gives a huge variety of food. New Haven, CT is the perfect place for a person on an empty stomach. There are amazing high class restaurants, along with cheaper places that taste just as delicious. A typical food stop for me downtown would have to be to Noodle House and then I would take a short cut through a parking lot and would eat at Froyo World. If you ever visit New Haven, you must eat at those two places. I always get the spicy glass noodles with chicken and shrimp at Noodle House. It is amazing!

Off-Campus Housing: There are many apartments in New Haven, CT. The only problem is that Yale resides in New Haven so all of the nice apartments are very costly but at least they are close to downtown. The other apartments that are located throughout New Haven, that I have been in (due to friends living there or at a jobsite) have not been the cleanest or in the safest of neighborhoods. I would strongly suggest living on campus.

Campus Dining: There is a wide variety of food. The grill is mainly everyone's favorite spot. You can order grilled cheese, hot dogs, burgers, and even turkey burgers. Outside of the grill there is also a salad bar, sandwich stand, pizza place, desert bar, and an area where they cook different types of food each day. Overall, the food is okay. Some days are better than others, but in general the food is edible.

Guys & Girls: Many of the students at Albertus Magnus College are very laid back. They like to party a lot, but when they are not, they are cool and relaxed. It is very easy to make friends.

There are two major types of groups at AMC, commuters and residents. If you are a resident, you will get to know everyone in a matter of weeks. It is much more difficult for a commuter to get involved with the residential life. Over the past couple of years, the Albertus Community has been getting these two groups more involved with each other. The clubs and associations have greatly been dealing with this conflict. I now know more commuters than I did my freshman year.

Drug Safety: Resident Asst. of each dorm are aware and do round checks every hour and if caught you can be written up and/or kicked out of the dorms.

3 College Junior

Transportation: Albertus Magnus College share transportation with Yale University using the Yale Shuttles which comes every 15 mins. Also, there are city buses that cost $1.10 which can bring you pretty much wherever you need to go while following the routing schedule.
