Facilities: The unique thing about UAlbany is that the student body is composed of many different types of people from all over the world.

2 College Freshman

Majors: There arent that many variety of majors at ASU. I am currently a Biology major and thats only because ASU doesnt have a specific sports medicine major.

1 College Freshman

Diversity: The isnt any diversity at ASU mainly due to the fact of it being a HBCU but there are different races on campus but not that many.

1 College Freshman

Athletics: I am an athlete at ASU and my personal opinion towards our athletic facilites is poor. We share our gym with the general population and the weight and locker rooms are subpar

3 College Freshman

Computers: There are a good number of computer labs on campus but also a good number of students without computers which leave space for other students who may have to use them from time to time which poses a problem.

4 College Student

Athletics: The Golden Rams at Albany State University in every sport the team members seem very dedicated. They arre very into the sports that they play and enjoy what they are doing. Most are there on scholarships and are good at what they do, so we enjoy watching them.

Off-Campus Housing: Even though I am not in college yet, Albany State University is one of the schools on my list of colleges to consider. I am a senior in high school and I gradaute in May of 2013. When taking a tour of the school I reallly enjoyed the tour. Although i enjoyed, there were some downfalls. The freshman dorms were a little small, but the students there seemed really nice. There were workers in the admissions office that were very helpful and willing to interact. The campus isn't an A+, but it isn't terrible.

Weather: The weather is actually great! Whenever the weather is bad a phone call and email is sent out by the board to let students know.

4 College Senior

Academics: I enrolled in ASU because it is a HBCU and how many chances do you actually get to go to one. Whenever I have something going on or questions there is always a professor or staff member who is there to help me. I love the fact that early registration is allowed because it cuts down on the long lines and waiting periods.

4 College Senior

Academics: I absolutely love my major! All of my professors are very helpful and will help you to find work. My professors have worked wonders for me and have gotten me a inernship to learn more about my field.

Athletics: They athletics is a very positive outlook. Only thing I would recommend is more transportation for students who do not have a vehicle.

Local Atmosphere: Albany is not a big city. Most people only leave campus to get food, go to the mall, movie theater, or parties. But we do have just about any thing a large city has. Albany State is the heart of Albany GA.

4 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: The campus definitely does its job when it comes to strictness. Albany is what we call an open campus. There is no major check in points, we have a lot of locals on campus. But you never really here about crime. I walk the campus at night and feel perfectly safe. The police are always driving around and asking if you need any help or a ride.

3 College Freshman

Parking: For the most part all of the halls have direct access to parking. Halls 1, 2, East and North share a small parking lot, but also has access to the library parking lot. Halls 3 and 4 have a parking lot and access to an unpaved parking area also. Halls 5 and 6 have the best parking with ample parking spots. However, do not expect to drive to places like the cafeteria. There is no parking there.

Drug Safety: On campus police lock down on all drugs, so thats not a issue.

College Sophomore

Transportation: We dont have a transit that goes around the campus

Weather: The weather in Albany is very bipolar. It is often really hot in the winter, and overly hot in the summer. And when the rain comes, it stays for several days. But most days in Albany are nice days.

3 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: Albany is a small city that doesn't have a lot to offer, but Albany has a lot of potential to big things and bring more attraction. The major site in Albany is Albany State University, but with Darton College and Albany Tech around the corner, Albany could do alot of offer there college students while they get their education.

3 College Freshman

Computers: Most of the computers are available in the library or labs. Wifi is a problem sometimes but if you use a ethernet cord then you will be fine

5 College Freshman

Drug Safety: there is a no tolerance rule which means you are not allowed to have drugs or alcohol on campus. if caught its an automatic expulsion.

3 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: the campus is a no tolerance campus, which means theres absolutely no drugs or alcohol allowed on campus. there are securty poles located literally everywhere in case of emergency. We have a police station across the street from our ACAD building. over all i feel very comfortable and safe here.

3 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: At ASU you'll find people who take value appearance. From the sports players to the business majors, you can tell where people are headed, career wise.

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: I would give the athletics at ASU a C+ because the only major sport that is payed attention to is football. The other sports aren't nearly as good as our football team and they are not payed attention to by the students. The school does have great school spirit, there's even a spirit squad. The athletic facilities are available to all students, there's a pool, and a weight room that students have access to.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: At ASU, the campus is strict but not too strict. It is a dry campus meaning absolutely NO ALCOHOL OR DRUGS on campus at all. As a member of SGA Internal Affairs, I hear the cases of students who have gotten into trouble for violating the student code of conduct and there are misconceptions about the campus being dry. You can go off yard and drink or whatever, but if you come back to campus intoxicated or under the influence you will be in trouble IF you get caught. The residential assistants are pretty cool for the most part but there are those "super R.As". The rule for attendence is you get as many absences as hours for the class (3 hour class, you get 3 absences), after you've missed the number of absences you are given, your letter grade drops one point. (not all teacher do this but some of them do). The dress code is there but it's not really enforced.

3 College Junior

Campus Strictness: The campus has a zero tolerance policy. There will be consequences if you are caught with drugs or alcohol. The police force is good. I feel safe on and off campus.
