Student Body at Northwest Vista College: The student body is responsible and accepting

Student Body at San Antonio College: Although this is my first year at San Antonio College, I was easily able to see that the diversity here is great. There are many people from different backgrounds: Hispanic, White, Asian, Middle Eastern, African American, etc. There are also so many deserving and hard-working students here who were in or are currently in the military. The classes are what to be expected from most colleges-- they are challenging, but there is always a professor readily available to help the student. The students in general, are kind and friendly and are willing to help out their fellow classmates, and always seem to be able to point you in the right direction.

The professors are very friendly as well and are more than willing to help any student get to where they want to go (literally and theoretically speaking). From what I have experienced and wittnessed, they give up their own time to help an individual student.

I have been to three different high schools in my high school career, and have never been helped or felt accepted by other students, as much as I have at San Antonio College.

Overall Experience at Northwest Vista College: My first year at NVC has more than pleased me. My senior year in high school I made last minute decisions and was forced to attend NVC. The only reason I wouldn't choose to go all over again is because I really wanted to go to a university all four years in college. That of course didn't happen, and because it didn't, I got to learn so many great things from my amazing professors and I saved tons of money!

Academic Experience at Northwest Vista College: For now, it's okay. I am still taking core classes and haven't started taking classes related to my major. But the core classes are awesome and I am happy that I have learned so much.

Academic Experience at Northwest Vista College: My first semester, and so far into my second semester at NVC, my professors have been amazing! I am so pleased and blessed to have had such understanding professors my first semester. My second semester so far, my professors have been helpful and fun and straight to the point of what we are learning. Its the best.

Career Services at Northwest Vista College: I don't really have much to say about the Career Services at NVC because I have never really taken advantage of them. When people from the Career Center would come to my Student Development class and talk to us about different things, I did learn some things, but not much.

Student Body at Northwest Vista College: I think that when students are paired in partners and groups, they are very interactive and communicate on a great level. But I don't think that many of them really hang out outside of the classroom much, and if they do, they were already friends to begin with. But I don't think we need to be friends outside of the classroom as long as we all get along in the classroom.

Facilities at Northwest Vista College: I'm sure that our school is different than the other Alamo Colleges in its own way. But I don't think that there is anything really unique about our school that makes it completely different. It feels like any other school and nothing more.

College Freshman

Online Courses at Northwest Vista College: I have never taken an online course at NVC. But I would just like to say that yes, they are great for people that don't have the time to make it to make it to school. But I believe that we all learn better in a classroom environment. I feel that we can slack taking an online class too easily because there is no real communication with students and professors.

Academic Flexibility at Northwest Vista College: I've never had a problem with any faculty at NVC. Everyone is very helpful and understanding. I can't complain.

Tuition & Financial Aid at Northwest Vista College: I am most definitely getting my moneys worth taking classes here. I feel like I understand whats going on 95% of the time and all of my professors are very helpful. Financial aid is kind of an issue for me though. For people that receive it, I'm sure they love it. But I didn't receive any amount of financial aid and sometimes it was hard for me to come up with the money sometimes, especially because I have other monthly payments that are just as important.

Campus Resources at Northwest Vista College: Personally, I am the type of person that likes to bring my own laptop to school and print out my school work at home. But when my printer runs out of ink, or I forget my laptop at home, the computer labs are always there for me when I need to get some last minute work done. It has come in handy plenty of times. In class, if I need wireless access to search the web on my laptop or ipad, 5% of the time do I ever have a problem. Campus resources are great and I hope they continue to stay this way.

Campus Resources at Northwest Vista College: I've never used any of the athletic center or student centers, but I have friends that have and they have never complained. If anything, they encourage me to take advantage of it. The library is my favorite place at NVC. When I need a quiet place to read or work on my math homework, that is where I go. It's never loud, and I feel comfortable.
