Tuition & Financial Aid at Palo Alto College: Its very helpful for students like myself, but the cost of books are very high and will take half of your financial aid.

Online Courses at Palo Alto College: To Be in Online School or a Classroom Experince – online courses are very helpful they allow u to do you school work at your own time, you even get to learn on your own pace. Classroom experince to me is more helpful because there is an instructor that can help me if I dont clearly understand a certain thing. In conclusion i would choose to learn in a classroom.

Career Services at Palo Alto College: Post Grad Services – Not really sure they are usually closed when I go to the school since I am a night school student.

Academic Flexibility at Palo Alto College: My Experience – My overall experience has not been the best with my school. However, I am really determined to get my education now more than ever. I just wish there was more help for people like me who they say makes to much when it comes to financial aid even though it may just be at the limit. They have so many fees and trying to pay for tuition along with everyday life bills is almost impossible for me. I have wanted to give up many times because I get so discouraged but I am detemined to get my education once again.

Online Courses at Northwest Vista College: Be Organized – it is sometimes hard to remeber what is going to be due for your online course while your attending regular classroom courses. just make sure to be organized with your materials and time and everything should just fall into place.

Tuition & Financial Aid at Northwest Vista College: Take Care of Business – The eduaction i am currently recieving at Northwest Vista College is acceptionally resonable for the amount of tuition i am paying. The staff there do everything within their power to help you succeed in your eduaction. The oppurtunities are all there, it is up to the student to take advantage of them.

Student Body at Northwest Vista College: Mostly Hispanic School – The school is predominently Hispanic, but in terms of politics, race, and sexual orientation it is a potluck. Also, it is not too uncommon to have older adults in the classroom continuing their education.

Campus Resources at Northwest Vista College: Lake and Tranquility – In the center of the campus is a beautiful lake. It makes it a very good place to study and it is very peaceful. I've gone to and sat by the lake to clear my mind and to study.

Academic Experience at Northwest Vista College: There Is Always Help – All of the professors I have had have been very good. They are fair and they are helpful. Class registration can sometimes be a bit screwy but usually its fine. Except for online classes the workload has never been too much for me.

Overall Experience at Northwest Vista College: Cheap, Fun, and Effective – My school is very helpful. It's a great price and I can get one on one instruction with a professor if I need it which makes it that much easier to get good grades and maintain a high GPA.

Student Body at Northwest Vista College: Community College Feel – We have a very diverse group of students. Most of them are full time parents trying to go back and do the right thing for their children. It's also much cheaper at a community college.

Tuition & Financial Aid at Northwest Vista College: I think Northwest Vista's tuition and finanical aid process is very straight forward and easy to understand. I have been attending NVC for a little over 2 years now and have never had a problem with paying tuition or being reimbursed from financial aid. The turn around time was exactly what the office told me it would be and it was the for exact amount they advised me of originally. As for the tuition itself I feel like I am getting exactly what I've been paying for. The professors are very educated and are always there for assistance. The facilites themselves are well taken care of and up to date. The technology available for students is also up to date and easy to work with.

Campus Resources at Northwest Vista College: We Have Some Things That Are Cool – We have nice facilities at our disposal. There's a huge library that's great for last minute printing and the help centers are pretty fast (except right before school starts) I'm not very involved in our campus because I wish to transfer.

Online Courses at Northwest Vista College: My Online Classes Are Different – I can't really say that I like online courses because all we do is write papers. To me writing is going to make me learn a subject, they give too much work because it's online and they have to "prove" we are doing something. However, they are very helpful when it comes to a full schedule and it's very flexible with work and other activities.

Academic Flexibility at San Antonio College: Pretty Decent – For the most part, I have been able to set my schedule to my liking and to meet my personal needs. In some instances, as I get closer to transferring, the availability of classes has lessened quite a bit, even though I am taking science courses that are popular and required for health care majors. This has resulted in having to take courses with professors I would not normally choose, and has also necessitated taking internet courses, when I would prefer in-person learning, just because there were no classes available otherwise.

Tuition & Financial Aid at San Antonio College: San Antonio College has actually had local news coverage repeatedly due to issues with the handling of financial aid disbursement. San Antonio College (SAC) has a Facebook page, and every semester you can see it flooded with questions, complaints, and total meltdowns by students. The reason for all of this Facebook page activity is because the actual financial aid department does NOT answer the phone during "peak times" and these peak times seem to last for months.

It is not their "policy" not to answer the phone, they just don't. The biggest issues are with people submitting all necessary documents and forms on time, or well before the due date for "guaranteed processing", yet still NOT getting their aid in time. Some are forced to drop. IN some cases the school drops students for non-payment, when their aid should have covered tuition but was late (and through no fault of their own). Others cannot buy books or even manage gas to get to and from school when the financial aid is late.

In my own case, the bank somehow "lost" my direct deposit. My bank and the bank the school uses are one and the same but my financial aid direct deposit was in limbo for weeks. I did not get dropped, but I had no textbooks and no transportation money until almost halfway through the semester, despite submitting all my paperwork early.

The issues are chronic. Anytime near the start of the semester, there is a line out of the financial aid office that would almost stretch out half of a city block, and just 3 people working in the office. It is beyond ridiculous.

Overall Experience at San Antonio College: Good for the Money.. San Antonio College's small class sizes and interesting, personable professors have made this an overall positive experience. There is a lot of room for improvement, however. The financial aid department is a mess, and chronic problems/delays with getting needed funds cause unnecessary stress that I, as a non-traditional student and mother of 3, do not need. The problem is so widespread that is has made the local news!

In addition, while many professors are nice, I would love to see a greater focus on developing creative thinking, classroom discussion, hands on learning, vs "read and regurgitate" type of coursework.

I have enjoyed my time at San Antonio College but I do worry about how well I will do when I transfer to a four year university.

Academic Experience at Northwest Vista College: Classes Are Fun – I'm a biology major and the classes I have are very fun. After Bio 1 it's hard to find any open classes. I have now gone 2 semesters without being able to take another Biology class. However the classes I do take are very low stress and helpful.

Campus Resources at Northwest Vista College: Computer Labs – The computer labs at Northwest Vista are always available, as well as printing. the network connection is fast and easy to use, and wireless acces is all over the campus. If I ever need to use a computer for personal use on campus they have certain classroom for students to use individually.

Student Body at Northwest Vista College: I'd say Northwest Vista College consists of many working- class people, as well as students, who are continuing their studies after graduating high school. I think it is great to have people of different backgrounds, cultures, ages, and ethnicities attending the same college, since the younger students can learn from the more life-experienced ones about things that cannot be taught in classes.

Overall Experience at Northwest Vista College: Alamo Colleges for People – First I heard about community colleges as a cheaper way to get education. Once I started attending one of Alamo Colleges, I saw that the financial side is not the only advantage of the college. The campus is beautiful and the administration and teachers are very helpful with any question I might have. I'm very happy with my choice of college and appreciate what Alamo Colleges are doing for me.

Campus Resources at San Antonio College: Great Small College – Great campus life
enjoy reading the college floors outside when students write their thoughts in chalk
great professors who treat us high school fair

Student Body at Northwest Vista College: Everyone here is friendly and willing to do what we came here for.
