Nightlife: The nightlife is very fun, because that is the only thing that is exciting and the only thing you can look forward to because there is not a lot of things to do.

Computers: There are a lot of computers around the campus but it never seems to be enough. When midterms or finals come around it is hard to find a open computer because everyone is using one.

Local Atmosphere: Montgomery, Alabama is very country and the weather there is very humid and it also rains a lot. Coming from California it is a very big step for me. There is nothing fun to do in Montgomery, and everything closes early.

Campus Strictness: Our school keeps track of attendance and tardiness. They want the best from their students and so they are strict on this policy. It keeps the department and classes in order. This eliminates any kind of distractions that can be brought on by just the act of one individual.

Health & Safety: I don't feel unsafe when I am on campus, no matter the time of day. They have pretty good parking with great lighting that will make you feel safe. It is becoming a more beautiful campus.

Guys & Girls: Most of the guys and girls at my school have similar interests. The guys are athletic and outgoing. The girls are big on their looks. Both girls and guys like to hang out and have fun.

Athletics: Alabama State has good athletics. The athletes train well, are involved, and the students support is a common way of cheering them on and encouraging them to win.

Majors: I plan on getting an internship in my major. My major is computer science. i have expriences regarding computers, such as building computers and also different programming. Every semester on our campus, we have a career fair where all of these different companies look for potential workers.

Campus Housing: Alabama State University is a good school. However, some of the dormitories are not suitable for the student body. Also, some of the administration can have more positive attitudes, when we ask for assistance, for example, housing, financial aid, and etc. The main issue is the tuition is increasing.

Health & Safety: Security at Alabama State is on hand and visible most of the time. A lot of thief does take place. Keep personal belongings locked at all times. Cameras are installed in many places around campus. Police are always visible and on hand. There are also safety booths installed where u can press a button to get police. Other crimes are not common and ASU is relatively a safe campus.

Majors: It's relatively a good process. You simply submit a form showing your interest and it will be processed. You receive updates via your school online account or you will receive a letter as well in a short amount of time. The earlier you submit, the better with speed and getting you prepped and talking with an advisor!

Majors: I like my program a lot. I would definitely consider doing it all over again. Being a history major can be a very ambiguous yet opportunistic field. It could take you into teaching, law school or whatever you may be looking for. I when I become a graduate student will be pursuing journalism. Being a history major has equipped me with the proper critical thinking, observational skills, articulation, and writing skills neccesary to prepare me for my choice.

Majors: I have not had an internships thus far however I do plan to in the future. I feel it will give me hands on experience in my field and prepare as well as ensure me if that's what I really want to do in life. One concern about finding an intern is the amount of companys or people willing to accept and the personal willingness and amount of space available. Internships can be very helpful for experience, self promotion and future goals.

Majors: Being a History major at Alabama State is a very consistent, adequate, and direct program. The professors provide you with detailed and concise lectures and allow opinions and aspects of history to be observed and studied by students. Class sizes inside the program are considerable most of the time allowing a more open yet personal atmosphere. The use of images, PowerPoint, smartboard, and other educational technology is common and helpful. The classes are usually very interactive and the professors are very willing to allow questions, observations and opinions and will ackowledge and reply to you quite commonly. Asu has a great History Program!

Parking: Parking is extremely limited! The tickets and fines make it even worse. It is very important that they resolve the parking issue.
