Weather: Lately it been rainy, but overall the weather is understandable at times.

Nightlife: The nightlife is unpredictable. its always something you can be able to do.

Parking: Besides the time the school have a big event. Parking on campus can be descent at times.

Campus Dining: Campus food is decent, but could use a lot of improvement. Knight dining hall does not have enough seating during the lunch hour and the lines are extremely too long. The cooking and serving is not done in a very sufficient and time saving manner. Also the variety of food is very poor. Its as if the same menu is repeated every week. Also, there are no late night options. If a students is hungry after 9 there is no place to dine. It would also be very beneficial if our one on campus restaurant, the Greasy Spoon was built into our meal plan and allowed students to swipe the ID card for meals.

Health & Safety: There have been a couple of incidents on campus relating to crime, but the campus police are usually quick to respond and students are alerted about the incident quickly. I have never felt majorly threatend on campus. I do wish the police would enforce the drug rules on campus.

Athletics: The athletes at Alabama A&M University are very well taken care of and most of the teams have decent records. Some of the programs could use some work, but there is always progress being made. No matter what all of the sports teams have great fan support. The school always backs the teams with a lot of school spirit.

Scholarships: I have received my financial aid and it paid for my whole semester and even got a refund check but it took forever me to get settled with my financial aid

Local Atmosphere: Being on campus there is nothing to do and there is nothing to do off campus either.

Weather: one minute it's hot then the next minute it's cold

Campus Dining: The dining hall serves the same thing every week. There are always chicken sandwiches, pizza, and hamburgers. We only have two dining halls when we also need a food court for when you on the go or after the caf closes.

Weather: Bipolar, in my opinion its just like Atlanta weather but colder

4 College Freshman

Campus Dining: The Dining is awesome in my opinion besides when they have pork because I dont eat it. The meal plan is kinda expensive but it does the job. There are two cafes and they both serve buffet style. There are diffrent areas to get what type of food you want: pizza, grill, salad bar, etc.

Campus Housing: before i started college, i was always told that freshman had the crappiest dorms, upperclassmen had the best dorms and that there were fraternity and sorority houses. when i came here there was none of this, except for the part about crappy dorms. upperclassmen are in the same dorms as freshman. When you come to S.O.A.R. they play you by making upcoming freshman stay the night in the high class female dorm, then when you see what your dorm actually looks you get kind of upset, well i did. Compared to my friends dorms who go to other colleges, my dorm isn't worth what i have to pay. if you don't live in the high class dorms or at Normal Hills(Campus apartments) your college experience can be kind of irritating. the cafeteria closes at 7, my RA said that we're lucky to even have a microwave on the first floor. we can't bring microwaves or refridgerators because if we do "the power will go out because the building is so old". there are A LOT of empty dorms. There's 6 dorms for guys (Foster, Stephens, Morris, Hopkins, Walker Wood, and Grayson), but only 4 of them are open (Foster, Stephens, Morris, and Hopkins). There's 7 dorms for girls (Knight, Thomas, Hurt, Terry, Palmer, Thigpen, and Buchannan), but only 3 of them are open (Knight, Terry and Palmer). Thomas Hall is open but they're not using it as a dorm, they're using it as the place to teach ORI 101(Survival Skills), tutor, and to talk to your advisor.

Drug Safety: it's all about who you associate with. you don't really see drugs unless you're around people who're doing drugs. you'll see people smoking everywhere, and at night you'll see people drinking everywhere. you'll click with people very fast if you smoke and/or drink because almost the whole campus does it.

Academics: The Forestry program at Alabama A&M is great. The professors are very knowledgeable and professional. We are given plenty off opportunities to go out into the field and apply the concepts learned in the classroom.

Parking: Parking is taking very serious at school they will give you a ticket.

Greek Life: Greek life at school is good they are not known for just the parties the have like study groups to help students, They do things to help other students through school.

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: the financial aid process is remotely slow.its very hard to get them on the phone and their lines are always extremely long because of the inconvenience of your student account being incorrect. you will receive all the financial aid you need but patience is the key to having everything run smoothly. the best tip regarding financial aid would be to get everything situated early so you can avoid the long lines at financial aid every semester.

4 College Sophomore

Facilities: AAMU's campus is great whether you prefer to party or just admire the beautiful scenery by feeding the ducks at the pond or enjoying the books and computers offered in the library. Campus life is great and there is never a dull moment. the student center has game and movie nights often while also providing students with any information they may need about upcoming events. Homecoming week is great and the step show is tradition and the best and most popular student hangouts are the stones and the quad.

3 College Sophomore

Facilities: our engineering and agricultural facilities are the best and campus life is also great. after dealing with the difficulties of class, there is always something going on around campus to boost your day and motivate you to keep going.i would not change anything about our academic programs or learning facilities if i could because out facilities are great despite their few flaws and the opportunities allowed at AAMU should make everyone who attends proud to be a bulldog.

Local Atmosphere: Huntsville is a sort of small town with not much to do besides campus associated activities. it is overall an ok place to live though in reference to safety because there are rarely any dangerous tragic events around the community.the local attitudes toward students are great; the community is our biggest supporters. the best area of attraction would have to be the galaxy of lights neighborhood show that takes place during christmas time as wellas the beautiful camus of Alabama A&M University and the University of Alabama in Huntsville

3 Recent Alumnus

Scholarships: There are not a lot of options for scholarships, and some have been pulled on people at the last minute.

2 Recent Alumnus

Off-Campus Dining: Off campus dining is not within walking distance for the most part.

Overall ExperienceWhat's This?

The A&M experience is excellent! Students who have graduated from A&M often say that there is no place like "The Hill." Sure, students complain about the long financial aid lines, old buildings, and out-of-date resources, but when asked if they would do it all over again and still make A&M their first choice, many have said they would. A&M is truly a "home away from home." It's a great place for students to discover who they are and who they can become. Being a historically black college, A&M has so much history engraved in its roots. After attending A&M, students gain a greater appreciation for their heritage and for those who came before them. Also, out of all the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), A&M has one of the best food science programs. It is one of the only HBCU's that has an accredited program. Most of the students who graduate from A&M with a food science degree are employed and working for major companies like Coca-Cola.

A&M is a great school to attend. Lifelong friendships and connections are made on this campus. Students at A&M are more than classmates—they're family. They encourage and support each other throughout their academic journey.
