Majors: I do plan on having an internship. AAMU has a Career and Development and Service program that will most definitely prepare you for a career.

Diversity: AAMU is one of many HBCUs (Historically Black Colleges Universities); there is not much diversity when it comes to race. Needless to say we do have other races attend our school and they come from all over the country. We all come from different backgrounds.

Transportation: Honestly, the campus is way too small for it to have transportation. walking from Foster all the way to the Wellness Center or Elmore gym doesn't even take an hour. it barely takes half an hour. but a lot of people on the campus are too lazy to walk. you spend more time waiting for a bus than actually walking to your destination. i don't think many people notice that. the worst time to try and ride the bus is during lunchtime. ALL of the buses be packed until around 2:00. another bad time to ride the bus is when it's raining. if you decide to come to Alabama A&M you'll see why. when it's raining EVERYBODY tries to ride the bus. the buses be filled up to the point that all the seats will be taken and the ones who couldn't get a seat will be taking up the space in the ailes. so just imagine trying to get off the bus with a bunch in the aisle. the only times i ride the bus is if it's empty or barely full. some times that transit system is a waste of money, then there are those few times that it'll come in handy.

Parking: The campus itself is very big and parking is therefore expanded to any who have vehicles. There is also buses to transport students to different locations on the campus. The only time the parking lots may become full is if there is a big event going on.

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: As long as you complete your financial tasks before you arrive to campus when starting a new semester, the financial process will go by smoothly and you can avoid waiting in lines.

Health & Safety: Campus health&safety is very fortunate. Campus police are always alert and students are always informed quickly on any incidents that have happened. The campus is well taken care of as far as cleaning street ways and littering.

Off-Campus Housing: Off-campus housing in Normal Hills, Alabama has its pros and cons. The upside about living off campus is that it is still a good commute from the the university and you are in a safe environment. The cons would be you get what you pay for and also the income of the community makes the high living apartments on the expensive side. You can still find affordable apartments within the $0-$500 price range you just won't have all the amenities such as upgraded kitchen appliances, but high price living ranges from $700-$1000.

Campus Strictness: they can be forgiving if there is a good reason. OTHERWISE THEY STICK TO THE BOOK.

5 College Sophomore

Facilities: the love and devotion fron the staff is undaunted!

5 College Sophomore

Facilities: the hands on attention and quality if teachers who actually care.

1 College Sophomore

Facilities: the facilities here are poor. the best facilities on campus is the wellness center, the business building, and of course the agricultural and engineering buildings. there are A LOT of closed dorms and other buildings on the campus. because the campus is a historical landmark they can't tear down those closed buildings. the Academic Enhancement Center (Student-Athlete building) is combined with the ROTC building. both of those buildings look old. broken windows, and they use some of the rooms for storage.

Greek Life: my expectations are probably too high from watching Stomp The Yard and other step shows. but from what i've seen the greek life could be WAY better. you don't really see them around campus. there aren't a lot of step shows, the most greek activity they do is host and promote parties. on some Wednesday's nights i think, the AKA's would drive around the campus screaming out their cars, but other than that there isn't enough greek life on campus.

3 College Sophomore

Diversity: Honestly i don't know how to grade this. it's an HBCU, so it's going to be predominantly black. I haven't seen Asians on campus before. There's a handful of hispanics and white people. we have foreign students, and most of them are on the soccer team.

Transportation: Transportation at A&M university is fairly ok. Although sometimes the buses come late and class professors are not happy when this happens. This happens when there is excessive amounts of student who get on the busses and their is no room.

Overall ExperienceWhat's This?

The A&M experience is excellent! Students who have graduated from A&M often say that there is no place like "The Hill." Sure, students complain about the long financial aid lines, old buildings, and out-of-date resources, but when asked if they would do it all over again and still make A&M their first choice, many have said they would. A&M is truly a "home away from home." It's a great place for students to discover who they are and who they can become. Being a historically black college, A&M has so much history engraved in its roots. After attending A&M, students gain a greater appreciation for their heritage and for those who came before them. Also, out of all the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), A&M has one of the best food science programs. It is one of the only HBCU's that has an accredited program. Most of the students who graduate from A&M with a food science degree are employed and working for major companies like Coca-Cola.

A&M is a great school to attend. Lifelong friendships and connections are made on this campus. Students at A&M are more than classmates—they're family. They encourage and support each other throughout their academic journey.
