Transportation: Only been to campust once to meet with advisor and was not good.

Campus Dining: I do not know bc I have not started yet. I will be starting next semester in 2 months

Drug Safety: Being Different – The drug scene at Alabama A&M University is something of choice. Some people tend to have their habits but from what i see they don't really try to pressure anyone into doing anything they dont want to.

2 College Freshman

Diversity: Majority Black – The campus isn't very diverse but the few of different races are treated as equals. Everyone can be themselves freely on the campus.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: The off-campus dinig is very pleasant there are many different selections.

Local Atmosphere: Not Much to Do Only School. Being that there is a limit on the things to participate in here in Huntsville , Alabama, you have no choice but to focuse on your studies. Thats the only entertainment here.

Local Atmosphere: A Place Called Home – this place is totally attractive to any students due to its geography.

Facilities: Alabama a&M – Alabama A&M University can be set apart from other schools because of its history. Before you attend this University, you should do some research on this school. We also have many organizations, that I cannot keep up with. Our Athletics is outstanding.Go Bulldogs!

Weather: The school and entire town was shut down last April because of tornadoes, and prior to that in February the town and school were shut down for aprox. 3 days because of heavy snow.

Parking: Paking is not all that great. Campus police are very strict and will ticket and have your car towed. I th8ink that we should have more flexibilty with the whole parking situation since the student body is rather large.

Computers: Computer Labs at Alabama a&M – A&M's Wi-Fi is very accessible luckily there are 3 or more places you can print for free. The library is an awesome place for research and other computer necessities. The Librarians are also very helpful and beneficial to students the take time and work with students.

Local Atmosphere: Atmosphere for Alabama a&M University – Here in Normal Alabama there is not really much to. It is a small city unfortunately but if you are extremely familiar with the city you will see that you could always find things to do if it fits you finacial status. Bridge Street which includes the Zone is the most popular place to go and security is stricly enfored. The Zone is a very safe place for everyone of all ages. Here at the Zone you can shop for and look for all the finest clothes and latest trends.

Diversity: There is not a great diversity of races on this campus, but there sexual orientation. Not sure about political beliefs, religion or economic background. I can say that it is a friendly campus and I haven't feel any particular viewpoints are being pushed on students. For the record, I am a minority (white) at this historically black college.

Facilities: The college has several computer labs, a health & wellness center, good library and the campus is relatively attractive. There are several old & historic buildings, but some have mold. Classroom temperatures can be uncomfortable. Most of the instructors are good, but administration not so much. However, I have seen improvements in that since I started attending.Needs better student center in my opinion. Campus is somewhat difficult to navigate due to being on steep hillside. Parking situation has been bad for commuters, but is improving with this year's stricter enforcement for resident student parking.

Facilities: Good and Improving – Our university was built on hills in 1875. Most of our buildings are historic. Our most recent facilities are the Louis Crews Stadium which can accommodate 25,000 and its nearby field house; the Drake Library, has been renovated and has several computer labs, meeting rooms, and an elevator. The student center has just recently been renovated also and is a welcoming site for the new student coming to our campus. Campus activities has its shortcomings but we have new leadership and so I am anxious to see what is in their plans for this student area of interest.

Computers: Technologically. . .Top Notch! Computers and computer access at Alabama A&M University is very good. The College of Agricultural, Life and Natural Sciences stays ahead of the game in equipment and software. There are at least five computer labs in our college alone and within each department, there computers to use and/or individuals that can assist you with technological needs. Our campus has access to wireless networking and it is most advantageous for the average student to have his/her own computer and printer. In fact, our financial aid office provides reimbursement for those students that purchase computer systems during the school year as long as he/she does not exceed their financial aid budget.

Academics: Difficult but Hope to Be Rewarding – Currently, I find it very difficult as I have just completed my written and oral examinations. Next on my schedule is the writing and presentation (defense) of my dissertation. The curriculum has been difficult at best as I was a nutrition major and it has proven that moving from nutrition, there are many subjects and basics we were not exposed to so one has to do make up coursework just to get on an even level with my other classmates. We do; however, have some of the better facilities on campus so I cannot complain. Internships are difficult for a doctoral student but I am constantly being told that I will be a unique commodity in the job market . . .being a black female with a doctorate degree in food science. That is yet to be seen. I hope they are right! Though there are instructors that are not on my advising committee, they have been my moral support and have given me advice (good and bad) in order for me to stay heading toward my goal.

Weather: The weather on campus doesnt effect the experience at all especially when your taking the bus to get to most of your classes, sometimes your are just undecided what to wear because you dont know if it is going to be hot or cold.

Off-Campus Housing: Off Campus Area – The off campus housing selection, I am not too familiar with it because I havent been off campus too much and when I have I may have not realized the housing but as from what I hear it is not pretty bad at all, although their are many pro's and con's to living off campus like your own privacy in and out of your room and your own space and a getaway from people at times, the con's may be transportation, gas, food, lonely and it cost more.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: Safety and Security at My University – The safety is good, the area is clean always and where I stay it is a well kept area and everyone around is friendly and security on campus is at an all time high, knowing that the security can not be every where at once they always happen to get there when something goes wrong or when needed. They do there job and that is good because some security at other places may slack, but the security here is great and they are active and they are cool and friendly, they make you feel safe to be staying on this campus while your attending this university.

Diversity: Alabama A & M is an HBCU, although I am white I love coming here. I feel very welcomed and the students here are very friendly to me. I could't see myself attending anywhere else.

3 College Junior

Scholarships: Finacial Aid – Because of the University being decieved finacial aid is often hard to comply with. School for us has started and we have been in session since August 19,2011 and it still is not finalized. They say that we will not recieve refunds until the first week of September when students need money to buy books now.

4 College Junior

Athletics: Pep Squad – Here at alabama A&M the pep squad is the pre-game entertainment. This includes: basketball, football, and volleyball. They are here to liven up the audience and do positive things so that ouer team can win. It really plays a role in the whole school spirit experience.

Transportation: Students That Stay Off Campus – It would be cool if the School buses came to the Off campus apts. Like maybe once every 2 hours or after 6 becuase thats when the public buses stop running.

Overall ExperienceWhat's This?

The A&M experience is excellent! Students who have graduated from A&M often say that there is no place like "The Hill." Sure, students complain about the long financial aid lines, old buildings, and out-of-date resources, but when asked if they would do it all over again and still make A&M their first choice, many have said they would. A&M is truly a "home away from home." It's a great place for students to discover who they are and who they can become. Being a historically black college, A&M has so much history engraved in its roots. After attending A&M, students gain a greater appreciation for their heritage and for those who came before them. Also, out of all the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), A&M has one of the best food science programs. It is one of the only HBCU's that has an accredited program. Most of the students who graduate from A&M with a food science degree are employed and working for major companies like Coca-Cola.

A&M is a great school to attend. Lifelong friendships and connections are made on this campus. Students at A&M are more than classmates—they're family. They encourage and support each other throughout their academic journey.
