Scholarships: To me, the financial aid office needs to be more organized. For example, they lost the verification worksheet that I literally handed to them. Then they denied the Parent Plus Loan that they told me to apply for.

Computers: Not That Bad – They have a couple computer labs spread throughout the campus the labs can be pretty busy though year round busy, but you can usually find a open computer somewhere.

2 Recent Alumnus

Drug Safety: Mainly Alcohol and Marijuana – The drug scene on the campus is not tremendously bad at A&M however there are quite a few students that smoke marijuana or drink, but I have been to schools where drug use is much more prevalent.

Parking: Parking at this school is horrible. There are maybe 2 or 3 parking lots that fill up immediately. You park your vehicle and then have to catch a bus all over campus. If you park anywhere other then the couple of designated parking lots YOU WILL GET TOWED. You can ask any alumni they will tell you that you are not a bulldog until your vehicle gets towed. Worst parking I have encountered at any university so far and I have been to several.

5 College Junior

Majors: Biology Program – The Biology program is great...we have wonderful instructors who are all very knowledgeable about the subject at hand.

Greek Life: Greek Life on campus is very low. They only care about themselves, everyone knows their business and they make people not even want to be apart of their organization.

3 College Junior

Facilities: Alabama a&M University – Alabama A&M University is a great school to attend. Me personally I have a love-hate relationship with my university. I love it when we show school pride and school spirit when football season comes around. But when it comes to financial aid and certain faculty and staff it can be a bit stressful at times. I just wish some of the faculty and staff took training courses on how to deal with students in different situations.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: The campus police are on top of there jobs and can be very strict about anything other than the right thing. They do know how to cut breaks on the very little things

3 College Sophomore

Diversity: I would say this school is 95 percent black. We have gain a large amount of white people this year but still hbcu.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Your Taste – Off campus we have chinese food, japanese food, pizza places, your regular fast food places such burger king, wendy's, taco bell, McDonalds and also we have wings to go for chicken lovers

3 College Sophomore

Weather: the weather is very diverse cause when it is sun is out its hot it tends to rain quite a bit and it also snows.

Overall Experience: My AAMU College Experience – AAMU has taught me many life lessons, groomed me into the person that I am today in which I am very thankful of. Although a HBCU, some of the best years of my life. Although there are many parties and other fun activities, you have to study and not get caught up into partying every night because it will hinder your studies. Overall great experience and I wouldn't trade it for the world.

Guys & Girls: AAMU Female Student Body – There are many types of women at AAMU: Tall, short, shy, outgoing, down-to-earth. The variety is quite appealing, depending on the type of female a guy looks for.

Majors: Alabama A & M University biology program is an challanging department and an helping enviroment. The teachers help assist you in whatever area you do not understand and also offers more assistance after class. They have a set up track just for you and your advisor to dicuss and you follow that path throughout all four years. Is a learning enviroment where you also interact with other students and the teacher also teaches different learning styles so all students who may have a different way of learning fully understands. I have enjoyed the biology department for two years and am looking for to two more years of an awesome experience.

1 College Sophomore

Diversity: Alot of Black Students – their are alot of African Americans at Alabama a&m and their percentage of white people are very small in the school and the whole student body is black but then again this is a hbcu

2 College Sophomore

Athletics: Sports Are Average – varsity sports at Alabama a&m are ok not very good but ok the campus treats the students ok but im not to much interested in the school im more interested in Georgia state and see how their facilities are and im more interested in their football program is

Majors: We have many majors to choose from on campus ... You named you will find it here or it is in development.

Transportation: We have buses running on campus but you have to get their schedule down pact. Make really good friends because sometimes they might give you a ride. Until you can either purchase yourself by auction or through dealership.

Guys & Girls: Average People – The girls on this campus are somewhat beautiful. With me being a guy of course A&M got em hahaha. It's cool going to college because you meet people from different states. We do have our grenades though

Academics: It's Great – A&M have a great academic students. I was on the Dean's List myself and I went to the honors program and just about half of the school was in there as well. A&M have some professors that are just horrible but you will always have your bad apples in the bunch. They have good professors as well as the bad that will bend over backwards for you. If you need help in class or a letter of recommendation they will help you.

3 College Junior

Academics: Helpful but Not by Much – Depending on your major, Alabama A&M professors are helpful. If you major in social work, or agricultural science stuff A&M is the place. My major is communications and we just have professors that just talk during the whole duration of class than just teaching and getting hands-on experience in my field. If you're failing a class, teachers will help you by giving make-up test in case you missed the first one.

3 College Junior

Greek Life: It OK – I'm not Greek but it's not so bad. They have there good times on campus hosting different events on campus and off. I would have became a greek but I'm scared that it might interfere with my grades which I don't want to happen. I just wish it was kind of better on this campus. The only thing they have to show for on this campus is there greek stones. We don't have greek houses on the campus of Alabama A&M.

Scholarships: The School Process of Financial Has to Get Better – I received my financial aid on time but the process is always hectic every year. The financial advisers always be in the library whereas almost every student in the school be also to try and fix there financial aid. It's always a long list to sign. Once your name is on the list, you have to play the waiting game in a conference room, then move to the computer lab where you play musical chairs, until you're next in line to see a adviser. I miss my first class because of the long list in financial aid. I received my financial aid but some how, I never received my pell grant. I'm in search of a scholarship that will help me battle these student loans.

Facilities: Good Wellness Center, Library, Traditions – There is a very nice relatively new wellness center. The library is nice and there are some cool events and traditions on occassion.

Overall ExperienceWhat's This?

The A&M experience is excellent! Students who have graduated from A&M often say that there is no place like "The Hill." Sure, students complain about the long financial aid lines, old buildings, and out-of-date resources, but when asked if they would do it all over again and still make A&M their first choice, many have said they would. A&M is truly a "home away from home." It's a great place for students to discover who they are and who they can become. Being a historically black college, A&M has so much history engraved in its roots. After attending A&M, students gain a greater appreciation for their heritage and for those who came before them. Also, out of all the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), A&M has one of the best food science programs. It is one of the only HBCU's that has an accredited program. Most of the students who graduate from A&M with a food science degree are employed and working for major companies like Coca-Cola.

A&M is a great school to attend. Lifelong friendships and connections are made on this campus. Students at A&M are more than classmates—they're family. They encourage and support each other throughout their academic journey.
