3 College Freshman

Majors: The process is not easy. It takes a lot of mental and physical work. I didnt have to do anything special with the application . The challenge was to figure out if I would learn to love my field of study or is this for me. The grade point average is the biggest criteria in my eyes.

5 College Senior

Facilities: The biggest attribute to AAMU is the career development services... They are there to help you prepare for post graduation.

5 College Senior

Facilities: Alabama A & M has all of the following, and is constantly growing

3 College Senior

Diversity: Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University Is diverse, however the university is predominantly black.

Weather: coming from chicago it is a difference. it stays warmer and gets hotter than it would there. it's pretty humid a lot of the time. but it gets no where as cold as chicago. overall the weather isn't really that bad

3 College Freshman

Campus Dining: when i first got to A&M i was overwhelmed with the variety of food, however it does get a little repetitive and not many restaurants offer student discounts. But when you need to go to a dining hall to eat you can't really complain because the food is good anyways

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There are lots of restaurants off campus however you definitely need a car because it's not in walking distance. there is a mcdonalds, bojangles and gas stations in walking distance though

Computers: there are many places that you can access a computer. you are able to use them as long as you need to.

Guys & Girls: There are alot of intresting people at A&M. There are so many different styles that come together on campus. Ofcourse every guy here isnt great but you'll definetly find someone you will have fun with.

Campus Dining: Alabama's A&M west campus cafeteria is pretty good. The only thing about it is alot of people go around the same time so the lines can get pretty long.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: I have never felf threatened or unsafe on this campus. On Alabama A&M's campus i never witnessed anything dangerous or felt that i was in any danger.

3 College Sophomore

Majors: The Process of getting into my music major was simple, in the end you just have classes to attend already in your first year that pertains to your major. An audition is often times necessary for certain groups or clubs your recommended to join. Most importantly just be determined through it all.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: As a music major I am very happy with my program. If i had to choose again i believe I would do it again because its something I love. In the near future i plan on opening schools for gifted and talented students interested in music, starting in my home town then hopefully expanding. My Concerns are very seldom.

5 College Sophomore

Majors: As an Music major, I could work as a intern at a local Studio or radio station. Most interns are unpaid but its a great opportunity to meet local artist and radio personnel. Responsibilities might range from leaning up, to getting a cup of coffee.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: Everywhere you look you'll see a police car. They also have emergency beacons all around campus.

Campus Housing: I thought this was supposed to be a college not a boarding school. Of all the college that i visited, this is the only one that is very strict about visitation.

Weather: The weather is unpredictable. One day it will be hot , the next day it will be cold.

Scholarships: To me, the financial aid office needs to be more organized. For example, they lost the verification worksheet that I literally handed to them. Then they denied the Parent Plus Loan that they told me to apply for.

3 Recent Alumnus

Computers: Not That Bad – They have a couple computer labs spread throughout the campus the labs can be pretty busy though year round busy, but you can usually find a open computer somewhere.

2 Recent Alumnus

Drug Safety: Mainly Alcohol and Marijuana – The drug scene on the campus is not tremendously bad at A&M however there are quite a few students that smoke marijuana or drink, but I have been to schools where drug use is much more prevalent.

1 Recent Alumnus

Parking: Parking at this school is horrible. There are maybe 2 or 3 parking lots that fill up immediately. You park your vehicle and then have to catch a bus all over campus. If you park anywhere other then the couple of designated parking lots YOU WILL GET TOWED. You can ask any alumni they will tell you that you are not a bulldog until your vehicle gets towed. Worst parking I have encountered at any university so far and I have been to several.

5 College Junior

Majors: Biology Program – The Biology program is great...we have wonderful instructors who are all very knowledgeable about the subject at hand.

1 College Junior

Greek Life: Greek Life on campus is very low. They only care about themselves, everyone knows their business and they make people not even want to be apart of their organization.

Overall ExperienceWhat's This?

The A&M experience is excellent! Students who have graduated from A&M often say that there is no place like "The Hill." Sure, students complain about the long financial aid lines, old buildings, and out-of-date resources, but when asked if they would do it all over again and still make A&M their first choice, many have said they would. A&M is truly a "home away from home." It's a great place for students to discover who they are and who they can become. Being a historically black college, A&M has so much history engraved in its roots. After attending A&M, students gain a greater appreciation for their heritage and for those who came before them. Also, out of all the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), A&M has one of the best food science programs. It is one of the only HBCU's that has an accredited program. Most of the students who graduate from A&M with a food science degree are employed and working for major companies like Coca-Cola.

A&M is a great school to attend. Lifelong friendships and connections are made on this campus. Students at A&M are more than classmates—they're family. They encourage and support each other throughout their academic journey.
