Tuition & Financial Aid: Tought for Me – I have a hard time paying my tuition and fees. Thanks to a financial aid adviser I only got $555 from the Pell grant this year instead of the $1700 I was expecting. Tuition is still much less than the other Automotive trades schools.

Overall Experience: Enjoying Every Minute – The work environment is great. New facility, modern equipment, small class sizes. Teachers are spread thin. Especially the part time ones. That makes learning a little more difficult. Still a great school.

Career Services: Post Grad Services – I must admit I have not fully examined the post-grad service yet. I do feel the community center at Aims is awesome. They offer a wide variety of student mentors and tutors. The library and computer center is open most of the time and the staff is very helpful and interested in my success.

Online Courses: Medical Terminology Online Quizzes – I enjoy the opportunity to take quizzes from the comfort of my home office. There is enough time allotted to complete each quiz and a response is provided immediately telling me my grade and I appreciate that. The only draw back to the online course would be that I do not have the opportunity to print the quiz for review for studying for the cumulative final test.

Tuition & Financial Aid: My first encounter with the office for financial aid left me with answers that were unclear. I listened and presented my questions from a different angle and still was provided with unclear answers and a piece of paper to go home and try to figure out. I was expecting someone to help me maneuver through the financial aid process. I am 53 years old and I felt somewhat intimidated with the aspect of entering college when at this age. One of the hurdles for me was to figure out how I was going to complete the necessary hours for a full semester requirement through the TAA grant, and try to find a job when my unemployment insurance ran out. I am hoping to be able to obtain a scholarships to help with living expenses so that I can concentrate fully on my classes and the study time needed to be a successful student. When I left the office, I was very disappointed and felt left to my own to figure out how to do that.

Tuition & Financial Aid: I don't feel that that they do what would be best for the student. There are students like myself who are trying to go to school full time work full time as well as my wife doing the same thing working and going to school. Also the way the Aims financial aid is set up you cannot use any of your expected funding there at the book store. meaning three a month into my semester I'm just barley getting the rest of the books I couldn't afford before. I think there could be changes to the system to allow the students to get their needed supplies.

Career Services: High Quality – I have heard people said that after they finished two years at Aims. They could find a good job with their certificates. However, I have not much about this experience.

Online Courses: First Time Attending College – Actually, I am a new student at Aims. I took the first semester last years and I got a really good grade. However, I have not taken any online class yet. Maybe I will take some online classes in the future, but I think they are also good and flexible.

Overall Experience: Great College for International Students and Instate Students – At the first time when I attended Aims Community College, I was an international student. Everything seemed to be hard for me because I was completely new. I took three ESL classes with a couple professors. They are very nice and friendly with students. After that, I was able to communicate easier of using English with people around. The classes are built and decorated really logic for studying. Now, I am US resident, and I come to Aims to get my computer degree in the near future. Afterward, I think Aims community college is a really good college for me and other people.

Student Body: Really Really Diverse. Because Aims is a 2 year school, many students are non traditional students - older parents trying to go back to school, businesspeople learning foreign languages, and young adults getting a start on college classes.

Online Courses: I Have Only Taken 1 Online Class. The teacher was really helpful, since I had never taken an online class before.

5 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: I really love Aims, the class sizes are small, and the professors really know what they are teaching about. I really wish Aims was a 4 year school!

Student Body: A Variety of People – There is a large variety of people at this school. I've seen kids just our of high school to full-time parents with jobs, working to change their careers or further themselves in life. All that I've come across are happy to make friends and socialize while being able to keep up on their own school work.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Work for Your Grades – The education I am receiving is worth the money being spent. I'm not getting any help with financials, so it is hard. And long as I keep track of my priorities I get the grades that I deserve. Nothing comes easy to those who do nothing. At this school and any others you get the grades that you work for always remember that.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: They Have Activies for Students of All Ages – They even have activities for student with children.

5 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: Printing on Campus – Aims offers printing through "Go Print." The school loads $5 on our account and each copie is 10 cents a piece. This is very convient for students who don't have access to a printer.

5 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: Evening Class Schedule – Since I usually work during the day, the hrs offered in the evening fit my schedule very well.
