5 College Junior

Campus Resources: Campus Is Easy – Campus is easy to walk around. It is very easy to find rooms and people that will help you.

5 College Junior

Academic Experience: Advisors Really Help – I haven't started classes yet but with everything I have done so far I am very pleased with Aiken Tech. The advisers have really helped me with getting ready and making sure I'm signed up for all the correct classes.

Academic Experience: The class I'm taking now is very challenging, but very educational. i have learned a lot of new things in class. The workload is not too much, it is just right. I do not think I will have trouble finding a job once I graduate.

Student Body: The students at Aiken Tech are very friendly. Some of the students have families and work. Other students came to Aiken Tech right after high school and do not have families and full-time even part-time work. It is easy to make friends at Aiken Tech. I made a friend my first day at school.

Campus Resources: Not Bad at All – Printing on campus is not expensive at all. It only cost 10 cents, elsewhere it is 15 cents or more. I have my own personal computer, but I barely have to use it for class. The only problem is students have to print their own copy of the class syllabus.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Still Had to Pay – After completing my financial aid I still had to pay for my class and books. I commute back and forth to school, and I didn't get any money back from FASFA and I didn't qualify for the Federal loan to help me with gas money. I wish there was a way to help commuter students with gas money and for students not to have to pay for their books.

Campus Resources: Could Be Better – The athletic center, student center, and libraries are very nice. However some of the staff at the Bookstore are not friendly at all, and do not want to help students, especially the new students.

5 College Junior

Academic Experience: Involved Professors – When I was inducted into the honor society, which is headed by one of the professors, she asked the mayor to be the guest speaker. She cares about her students and personally sees to help everyone. All of the instructors that I have had at Aiken Tech care about what they do and want everyone to accomplish their goals. I could not ask for a better school.

Career Services: Alumni Network – Aiken Tech has an amazing alumni association. Alumni are present at graduations, they sponsor scholarships (which also has a meet and greet breakfast), they attend sports and acedemic events (such as the honor society induction) and many donate money to sponser new programs.

Academic Flexibility: Excellent Accommedations – Aiken Technical College offers many transferring credits as well as offering a bridge program to transfer to a 4 year college with ease. The instructors care about you as a person as well as a student. The school has a Critical Thinking program built in within the curriculum. This program will help me learn how to develop the critical thinking skills I need for employment.

Academic Flexibility: A LITTLE FRUSTRATING TO GO TO THE BOOKSTORE AND HAVE TO PURCHASE BOOKS FOR $100+ WHEN YOU'RE NOT GOING TO USE IT AGAIN. ALSO IT WOULD HELP TO KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU NEED BEFORE THE CLASS STARTS TO ELIMINATE CONFUSION AND HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL CLASS STARTS.

Campus Resources: As far as available resources offered by the school, they have a mens basketball team and a girls softball team. The library is accomodating however if your hungry they only have vending machines and a book store with small snacks.

3 College Senior

Academic Flexibility: The only problems I've really came into was the availibility of certain classes wasnt enough..such as speech. However, the tranfer of my credits went through smoothly and i was very appreciative of that.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I am having a great time at ATC. It isn't what i expected college to be. The professors are very helpful and want their students to succeed, even if it means working overtime to help with extra help.

Tuition & Financial Aid: The FA's made applying for aid fast, simple and easy. I was able to use the school's computers to apply for FAFSA, as well as scholarships offered by the school. They have a very friendly and student oriented office.

5 College Junior

Student Body: There is a wide variety of students at the school. I believe everyone is very accepting at Aiken Technical College.

Academic Flexibility: Radiology Program – This program classes are all in the morning; which allows myself to keep my full-time job (which is very important to me).

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: Radiology Program – What I find very unique about this program is that one of its goal, other than teaching us what we need to know for our future careers; is that we are focusing on our community too. We are currently planning voluntary activities that will help the community as well as our school overall.

Overall Experience: I can't believe I'm paying alot of money to go here, but it is the only college near me, there are gangs of black people everywhere, white people are to scared to go to the gym area where there is only black men on the basketball team, whenever I walk by, black girls are yelling racists comments to me, I called security, it took them 10 minutes to show up, they just tell me they will call the sheriff's office, and they said they don't appreciate me calling them about this problem, the white security woman with ugly red hair, pushed me down, and acted like it was a accident, then she was talking to a black girl in the gym, 2 minutes later, that black girl was giving me mean looks, aiken technical college is a terrible place

Online Courses: Terrible Place – aiken technical college was a terrible school experience, I pay alot of money to go there, and other students are just at me with mean looks, I am a friendly person, the class sizes are way to crowded, it is hard to find a desk

Overall Experience: I graduated from aiken techncal college in 1999 with a certificate in computer technology, I never got a job. I'm back again in 2011 trying the nursing program, all of the counselors are to busy to talk to me, a friend told me they will only let 40 people in the nursing program, there is about 300 people with me in the pre-nursing program, they won't even let me take the prerequisites classes before the nursing classes, I'm in classes preparing me for the prequisite classes, what makes this so bad is that this is the only college close to me, so I'm stuck here, there are gangs of black people everywhere, so most white people are to scared to even go near the basketball gym area where there is only black men on the team, whenever I walk by these black people, they are yelling racists comments to me, I called campus security, it took ten minutes for them to arrive, and they just say they will call the sheriff's office, the white woman security worker with ugly red hair, tried to push me down, and acted like it was a accident, she planned it out, she is racist against white people, she was talking to a black girl in the gym, 2 minutes later that black girl walked up to me, and gave me a mean look, this college is terrible

Tuition & Financial Aid: i think the fin. aid office dont really pay atten and knw what they are doing

3 College Senior

Campus Resources: Some of the programs that ATC are some of the best in the country. ATC has some of the best teachers for any college. There is not much of a social scene. There are no dorms.

2 College Senior

Overall Experience: I am not completely sure of how I like my school. Some people have no problem getting their information through the school's system. Most of the teachers care about their students. No class size is over thirty students. I have never attended a school function. I am not completely sure that ATC has enough educators and office personnel that care about getting people a future. I am not satisfied with this school experience.

Tuition & Financial Aid: My Experience With Finacial Aid – I have had a great experience with finacial aid it is has helped me to further my education without any interuptions. I hope that everyone would focus on all the finacial turns in life.
