Off-Campus Dining: Downtown Decatur is full of restaurants. There are fancy restaurants, fast food, and causal.

2 College Freshman

Overall Experience: There are a lot of options of what to do, but it takes a while to find out what you like.

5 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: ATLANTA IS AWESOME. There are so many colleges around so there are so many new people to meet.

1 College Freshman

Greek Life: There is one "fraternity" and it is a music group. You have to go to another campus for Greek life.

5 College Freshman

Parking: The campus is so small that all parking is close. There is a huge lot that is never full.

5 College Freshman

Diversity: Agnes is basically a mini version of the world. You will see everything and everyone.

Transportation: MARTA is a 10 minute walk, but it's a $5 round trip. There is a zip car on campus and it's usually available ($15 down, then $8.75 per hour). DO NOT take a taxi, you will have no money.

Scholarships: I feel like everyone I know is on scholarship. They love giving people money.

5 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: You can basically do whatever you want. Like literally everything goes. You can drink, smoke, do drugs, have sex, and party like it's 1969. They really don't care what we do. But just don't cheat. Like the Honor Code is life.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Basically, freshman dorms are awful. The bathrooms are dirty, but that's mainly due to a lack of cleanliness on the students' part (although the cleaning staff could come more often too…) Despite the nastiness, the rooms are pretty big for freshman dorms. Dorms for upperclassmen are really nice. Inman is the place to be (they are spacious and some rooms have lofts!) Rebecca and Main have huge rooms, but they don't have air conditioning units so….

3 College Freshman

Facilities: It's a really pretty school. There's a good mix of old and new buildings. During the day it is a really fun and comforting environment.

2 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: There is only one apartment complex that upper class students can live in and it is literally 5 minutes walking distance from the school. You must live there or on campus.

1 College Freshman

Nightlife: The MARTA is available and you will probably need it to go off campus unless you have a car.

4 College Freshman

Majors: I definitely want to get an internship. This school has many professors and advisors that you can talk to if you are interested and my professors have urged me to look into internships in the area. The center for career planning is very helpful for students seeking an internship.

4 College Freshman

Majors: I really like the school so far. I'm on the pre-vet/med track and my only concern is being overburdened with work. This school is pretty tough. But with the help of my professors, I'll make it through

3 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: They don't really monitor drinking in dorms or noise level but for the most part that is not a problem anyway. We have a very strict honor code which is really nice and convenient.

5 College Freshman

Transportation: The campus is so small you don't need transportation around campus. Public transportation is just a block away but I don't use it that often.

5 College Freshman

Weather: The weather here is amazing! It's sunny almost everyday. I am very affected by the weather so this college is a great fit!

3 College Freshman

Parking: Although I do not drive, I am very aware of the rules and regulations of student and visitor parking. Students have to make sure they plan ahead for parking, because their will not be any left. Our public safety department definitely pays attention to cars and where they should be parked.

5 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: Agnes Scott holds all its students to an Honor Code system and it is taken cery seriously at the school. People get fined and have Judicial Court or Honor Court cases against them if they break the honor code. Incorrect parking results in a ticket and fee while underage drinking and other violations can result in fines and essays.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: As you get older, the housing options become a lot better and seniors and juniors have the option to live off campus if they would like to pay extra.

College Freshman

Guys & Girls: Agnes Scott is an all-girls institution. There are a few exceptions where transgender students attend so there are students who identify as male on campus, but these are few and far between.

5 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: Decatur is an amazing small town and Agnes Scott is right next to its downtown area. Plus Decatur is right by Atlanta which makes everything in a big city accessible with out needing to live in the city.

Agnes Scott is a liberal arts school with a small professor-to-student ratio, with rigorous academics and a thriving club life. The professors are all passionate about the subjects they teach and have had some experience in their fields, too. For the most part, they bring their all to each class. Not only are the professors intelligent and passionate, but they are also personable. There are few professors who are difficult to speak with about problems, anxieties, or comments about a class. The same can be said for all of the faculty and staff at Agnes. Everyone is committed to allowing students to learn and grow. The small community helps everything be personal.

Agnes helps to shape students into well-rounded individuals with the skills to enter a career. In order to get the full Agnes experience, it's important to put yourself out there. Many skills can't be acquired without reaching out to the College's offices or clubs/organizations. However, the most important thing any prospective student should remember about Agnes when making her big decision is that Agnes is a small, private, women's liberal arts college. All of these factors are important to consider because they will determine the experience you have. All in all, the Agnes experience is a wonderful one, but students should be aware that this experience is only obtained if they actively engage in the community around them.
