Transportation: There isn't a lot of public transport. Taxis are available, but everything is close enough to walk or bike around town.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: It's a very small town, so there aren't a lot of places to eat out.

Drug Safety: Dry campus. In Colorado, so access to marijuana is easily found.

4 College Junior

Guys & Girls: more than 70% of the student body is comprised of athletes.

Nightlife: do not live in area

College Student

Diversity: I have no contact with campus

College Student

Computers: not a on campus student

Overall Experience: They act like they do not want me to attend. Very SLOW to get back to you with feed back or answers. My rep keeps saying that they have a lot of students.

3 College Student

Weather: It snows one day and in the 50 the next. Make sure you always have a coat in your car.

Academics: have been waiting since Nov of 20013 to find out, that's over 6 mos.

Academics: I applied the first time in 11/ 2013 and NEVER was contacted by to college. It took a years of e-mails and they still were not very helpful but they are slow.

2 College Student

Local Atmosphere: over priced housing and very little of it

2 College Student

Facilities: The staff is overwhelmed with too much work

2 College Student

Scholarships: Call every other day to make sure they do not forget you. You need to PUSH them to get any thing accomplished.

4 College Junior

Health & Safety: I always feel safe on campus and never worried about anything. There is no crime that I ever hear of. The cops are always around at night as well so they are able to watch everyone.

3 College Junior

Weather: I love the school, but the weather is better. In the winter is cold and spring is a little windy, but its not too bad.

4 College Junior

Athletics: The athletics are good at the school, especially our cross country team. The students are well involved in the athletics and there are many fans. The facilities are great and they are taken care of everyday. The best part are our football stadium and our indoor bubble.

4 College Junior

Campus Housing: The dorms are good to live in when you are a freshman or a sophomore. As one becomes a junior or senior the new REX stadium is nice to live in or the apartments. The cost and convenience is not bad and the RA's always try to get people involved in activities.

4 College Junior

Computers: There are many computer labs and computers on campus. The printing is only 10 cents a page and that is for front and back. The school could work on getting better internet, but it works pretty well. It is nice to have a computer in your room to do homework, but it is not necessary.

Off-Campus Dining: The only chain restaurant there that Alamosa has is Chili's, the rest are locally owned restaurants. Cost, convenience, student discounts, and variety are all pretty average. There are only a few varieties of resturants, but the cost is pretty good. SInce the restaurants are locally owned, many do give student discounts during the week. The best place to go to is Wise Apples. There burgers and fries are to die for and you always leaver with left overs.

Majors: I am very happy with the major that I choose. Although some say that biology classes are very hard, and yes they are, it will be worth it in the end. I want to work with Marine Mammals. I am nervous that I went to a Colorado school who does not specialize in this area.

4 College Junior

Majors: There are not really any challenges about getting in. The most important criteria is if you have good grades coming out of high school, the more likely you are to get a scholarship. If you apply early enough, the classes you want are available.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: There are very few selections, but there are some. Alamosa is not a very big town, in fact it only takes about ten minutes from one side to the other. The cost of the houses are not too bad and the landlords are nice. Alamosa is a safe place and there are always places to park. There is never really a house that is far from campus.

Overall Experience: I love Adams State University and am so glad I picked this school. I love how the professors are really willing to help a student out if they do not understand a material. I am a student athlete as well and the professors help me keep up with my school work. My favorite experience is the student atmosphere. There are many opportunities for people to get to know one another. I would choose this school all over again because of just how happy everyone is to be there.

Academics: I love being a biology major here at Adams State University. The biggest classes I have is 40 people. The professors know you by your name and are always willing to help each student out. One of my professors sends emails about three times a week about internships that are in the area. Also, work studies are very easy to get especially now with having a STEM program. This program helps underclassman learn material from upperclassmen who have taken those courses.
