Transportation: Very Small Town – Alamosa is a very small college town and does not have a large variety of transportation. They have buses that run the town and an airport but not much else.

Health & Safety: Wonderful Safety – The safety on Adams State College campus is very well protected. I feel safe living on campus and feel like I can contact the campus police for anything I feel as a threat. Crime rates at the college are below average.

Off-Campus Housing: Off Campus – There are many apartments and small houses in the area that are affordable to many students. Most of the problem with this is that many students would like to have a pet when they move off campus, but many places do not allow pets.

Off-Campus Dining: Fast Food – There are many fast food places around the campus. they do not offer student discounts, but they seem to be very popular. There are only a few places that offer discounts and one of them in SLV Pizza. I would highly recommend it. They will pretty much put anything on a pizza that you want and it is homemade dough. Really good!

Campus Strictness: If a student was friends with the RD the student could get away with anything. The RD picked favorites, if the student wasn't a favorite the student was hated and written up unfairly. It's hard to try and follow the policies with such a biased RD.

Diversity: Most everyone is white or Mexican. Some black students attend but not many. The biggest range is truly Mexican and white...nothing really in between. The diversity is a low number. I don't expect much more with a small town though.

Off-Campus Housing: The off campus housing is alright. If you're on one side of the tacks it's safe but being out still doesn't make me feel completely safe especially alone. Prices are high but with couples it makes it easier. If a student lives right near the campus it's convenient but if the student lives far away it can be a lot harder. Parking is horrible though! There is never a spot, anywhere close to the school.

College Junior

Greek Life: NO GREEKS – Our school doesn't have any greek anything here, except maybe the honor societies within different majors (Psi Chi = Psychology honor society).

3 College Junior

Athletics: Cross Country Is the Bomb – We have a big athletic department, but we are especially proud of the Adams State Cross Country team. They have won a lot of awards - plus, Placy Hall (athlete central) has just gotten a huge update.

3 College Junior

Guys & Girls: Athletic Guys – Most of the guys on campus are in sports or work out. Lots of eye candy - er, um, I mean, lots of interesting people here on campus. We girls are a bit more diverse I think than the guys.

1 College Freshman

Facilities: Middle of No Where – If your coming from a huge city and want to go to a small town where its quiet come here!

2 College Freshman

Weather: It get super cold classes sometimes get cancelled, don't get your hopes up it all depends on your professors.

Overall Experience: Great Stories Begin Here – It is true to say great stories due begin here in Adams State. It is one of the most amazing experience I ever had so far. It is surrounded by so many trees and nature you just can't help but smile. Some people are so kind however it does get super cold during the winter. You can truly start your great stories here.

Health & Safety: How I Safe Do I Feel on Campus? Here in Adams state its safe to say its pretty much a safe spot no matter where you are because there are always building that require your ID entry. Granted if you lose your ID it is best to report it and get a new one right away. However never stray to far from campus because it is pretty much your out in the middle of no where, where anything can happen regarding your safety. I however do feel safe on campus because your windows have rods that can block anyone from getting into your window. However if you don't use the metal rod well that your chance you are willing to take. The doors on campus require your ID for entry.

4 College Freshman

Transportation: THere is really no need to have any transportation the campus is very small.

4 College Freshman

Diversity: There are many diffrent races here and there is a no racism polocy

2 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: Most everyone smokes marijuana and drinks, even the athletes. Police rarely crash parties or arrest those under the influence.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: Most of the affordable off campus houses are small, fixer upper places but usually have many bedrooms for roommates and at great prices, all are very close to school because Alamosa is TINY!

3 College Sophomore

Facilities: New but Small – Football field is new but has a small stadium. Library is huge with awesome open hours. Activities are rare and poorly attended. Rex center is always crowded. Practice fields are poorly maintained.

2 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: Local Housing – Many expensive options and the cheaper ones are hard to find.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Local Restaurants – There are a few fast-food as well as sit-down restaurant options within walking distance of school.

3 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: Small Friendly Atmosphere – The students and citizens in this town are very friendly, and easy to make friends with. The town is not very large, so there are not a plethora of activities to do here. The few things we have are entertaining though. There are the sand dunes, which we can walk up or even sled down and such. there is a movie theatre, though it is small. there are many activities the school putes togather for the students to do, for example rock climbing, and swimming in the local hot spings.

4 College Freshman

Computers: Many Labs and Have Good Accessability – there are alot of computers and you can access at anytime. also a math lab the sometime has someone to help you.

4 College Junior

Majors: Great Department – The Business Department at Adams State College is top notch. Always willing to help with school work, or even talk about personal lives. They care about you as a student and a person they respect, and without a doubt have helped me get to the point I have reached thus far in my college career.

3 College Junior

Nightlife: Partys and Bars – Alamosa has a grand total of 3 bars, so parties can get super packed and usually busted by the cops if you don't have any bouncer types regulating who gets into the party. Underage drinking is a common thing, as well as crime.
