Weather: Wait 15 Minutes and It Will Change. The weather is not something that you can control. The saying is that if you wait 15 minutes the weather will change. For the most part though it is pretty windy and that is what most people do not care for, I however really enjoy the wind so I do not find it a problem. Winters are cold but mild in comparison to most other places I have lived.

Campus Strictness: Strict Enforcments Even for Unguilty – Whenever the perpetrators of inappropriate behavior are apprehended by the police the police will crack down with all their power rather they are guilty or not. There is quiet a power trip going on between the police and students. However sometimes the harshness of the campus police can be good because it does deter a large amount of inappropriate behavior.

College Senior

Transportation: Small Campus Life – There are several taxi cabs that are available for in town transportation should the need arrive. There is no real need for transportation due to the fact that the the town is incredibly small.

Weather: Freezing Cold! In Alamosa the weather can get really cold. It does not every really snow but it is in a vally so the wind can get every evert stong whitch makes it the coldest. The campuse is pretty small so most people walk to classes which means you have to make sure you are preparded anything.

Off-Campus Dining: We have some small owed resturants and then some fast food joints but almost everything is closed by 10:30 P.M. At most places the cost is reasonable. There is only a few resturants that have student discounts.

Drug Safety: Drinking and Smoking Weed – At Adams State there is an equal amout of poeople who drink compared to those who smoke weed. Also most of the people do both. Aso there is a lot of people who who do niether.

Local Atmosphere: Not Your Average College Experience – The area is not made for your common college experience. It is a rural agricultural town although the college is beginning to grow.

3 College Junior

Majors: Decent Variety and Prestige – For how easy it is to get into the school I was surprised at how many good programs their are and a number of top programs in the state of Colorado.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: Learn to Love It – It is a very rural area without much to do and was shocking at first coming from an urban area. In the beginning it seemed boring but there are great people here and some outdoor fun to be had.

1 College Junior

Nightlife: No Variety and Boring – Their are only a few places to go out to and they tend to be a bit trashy and expensive for the experience.

1 College Junior

Campus Dining: Repetitive and Poor Quality – The dining hall continues to be an issue on campus. Complaints continue to come in on the service and quality of the food yet changes are not made.

3 College Junior

Weather: Wind in the Spring – It is a beautiful college in southern colorado. The snowy mountains and sunshine are amazing. The only bad thing is the strong winds in the spring time. Walking to class and my athletic practices can be a hassle at times.

Scholarships: Look on Your Own! So far, even though I've submitted tons of applications, I haven't gotten any scholarships directly through Adams State. I would make sure you're doing other applications as well.

Overall Experience: Best Choice for Me – Doing Adams Online was a great choice for me. I got some college experience without having to make a total life adjustment. I think it's a great option!

Local Atmosphere: Alamosa Is a Neat Town – Alamosa is mostly a small town but it is fun. There is shopping and some local attractions. There is also a lot of really pretty scenery.

Academics: Like Them! So far the professors have been really nice and easy to contact.

Academics: REAP Is Good for Me! I do everything through their distance degree program, so far, so good! I haven't got in to classes yet but they are so helpful helping us find scholarships, answering questions, anything you can imagine! I love it and I didn't have to move to get it done!

Transportation: You Can Walk Almost Anywhere – This is a good school for biking and walking. You can get almost everywhere on foot or by bike. It is however,a good idea to have a car because somethings can be a little far away and it gets really cold in the winter. The parking permits are included in the fees that you pay for your tuition so you can just go pick one up if you want. It really doesn't take too much gas to get around town either but it does to get out of it. There is also no public transportation. There is a gray hound bus that you can take to go to Denver though.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Not Too Much Variety – Their are quite a few restaurants around campus but most of them are Mexican restaurants and don't serve real Mexican food. The rest of the restaurants are Chinese and are okay. Chili's is pretty good though and so is the tortilla company. The tortilla company is like Chipotle but ways cheaper and way better.

Scholarships: Process Could Have Been Better – I didn't begin to receive the amount of financial aid that I needed until the end of my second or third year. This was pretty much due to the fact that I didn't know how to get it. I had to figure out who to talk to in order to get the scholarships and even Pell grants that I needed. I have always had a 3.0 and couldn't understand why I couldn't get any scholarships for it when I worked so hard. Now that I know who to talk to and what I need to do I get a decent amount of financial aid.

Drug Safety: Very Safe Campus – The drug use on campus is very low and the safety is very high. They take things like this very seriously and make it safe for everyone and minimize drug use.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Housing on Campus – The campus housing has improved. They renovated the dorms and they are much nicer than before.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: La Mesa Dining Hall – The food on campus is okay. Some nights are better than others. Overall I enjoy eating on campus. They have other options on campus that are different from the cafeteria.

4 Recent Alumnus

Scholarships: Very Low at Our Cumps – the cumps have little amount of budget so student can not recreated their self more and more

Nightlife: It Is Very Good – all was at Friday and Sunday every student are going to night club to dance and make others
