Transportation: There is a convenience to getting around campus, but it usually includes a bike or skateboard to get around quicker and more efficient.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Convenience of Food – They are all relatively close to campus and are accessible but have to drive and not so much in walking distance.

4 College Freshman

Facilities: It has plenty of labs and plenty of computers to get your school work completed before class and get everything printed in time.

Local Atmosphere: There are a few local attractions that are interesting to go see, but not to where there's many tourists. Abilene has plenty of restaurants - pretty much whatever you want. There's even a few chain restaurants in the campus cafeteria building! The attitude towards students is good they seem to be accepted as a part of the community. The safety is pretty good, just pretty much same precautions need to be taken as everywhere. There is a Wal-mart less than 5 miles from campus and a smaller size mall a few minutes away. Overall it's a pretty nice place to be.

Academics: What I Think of the Curriculum and Faculty at ACU – I have not taken a class at ACU yet, but from all I have seen from the faculty and learned from the demonstrations and examples of their curriculum I have been highly impressed with the quality and superiority of their curriculum. They strive to teach their students the latest and best techniques and information available to be used in their field. ACU is also constantly exploring new methods of teaching to improve the students quality and amount of learning achieved.

Scholarships: Keep your GPA at a mininum of a 3.0 and you will be elible for some of the schools/departments scholarships.

Campus Strictness: School Policies – Even though Abilene Christian University of a Christian school, their policies do not interfere with students academics or social lives to the contrary the policies in place protect the students. Campus police is strick and reinforces correct conduct and behavior of all students. We all mind our own business and stay clear of trouble.

Facilities: Christian Atmosphere – ACU provides a wonderful Christian atmosphere. The classes are small and the professors know you by name. It is very intimate and the professors are willing to work with you through whatever problem you're going through. There are plenty of things to get involved with on campus and dorm life is really great! The community is very close knit and it is absolutely wonderful!

Weather: Windy and Snowy! The spring is the best time for Abilene! It's mostly breezy and the skies are mostly clear. Fall is also a good time, but gets very cold for North Texas. In the winter, about February, it snows and ices and school is normally cancelled which is a plus. All the other days of the months it is windy! Don't even bother doing your hair.

Nightlife: Dancing and Concerts – There are multiple country dance halls in Abilene that are very fun to go to with your friends! Also, every month there are concerts at local cafes and at the convention center which provide for all tastes!

Greek Life: Greek Life can be a lot of fun, depending on which club you join. You sign up for a "social club," because that's what they call them at ACU--not frats or sororities. There is a rushing period and then an initiation period, and then you're in. It's pretty fun.

Guys & Girls: Good Kids – A lot of the kids came from Church of Christ backgrounds, so some of them were really nice, but some were a bit too wrapped up in the Jesus stuff for my liking. Some of them had a sense of humor, and some didn't. The kids were good kids, though. They were very nice and helpful to everybody, but some may talk your ear off about God.

Drug Safety: Where Are the Drugs? Looking for a place to to get high or knocked up? Abilene Christian University is NOT the place for you. I have heard rumors of select few people who might have used drugs but it's never been an issue on campus.

Campus Housing: Dorm Life – Living in the dorms was a good experience. I met some amazing people and had a lot of fun.

5 College Freshman

Academics: It's an incredible program with many oppurtunities. There are study abroad oppurtunities as well programs offered to those who are specifically interested in being psychologists.

4 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: No Drinks for You. ACU has a extremely strict no-tolerance drug and alcohol policy. In other words, get caught with something and you are no longer a student or faculty member of Abilene Christian University.

5 College Sophomore

Computers: Great Technology at School – ACU'c campus is very computer savvy. Just about everyone on campus has a laptop or computer. For those who don't, there are many throughout the campus that are student accessible. There are also laptops in the library that you can check out for your use. The school has wireless internet and printing, so its really easy to get work done with your computer just about anywhere on campus.

Facilities: Abilene Christian University is not a very large campus. All the buildings are within a 5 to 10 min walk. The library has just been renovated to make room for a new learning center and the student center is available for most any question or referral and is a great place to hang out and eat from one of the fast food places. All facilities have accommodating hours during the week and even on weekends which is great when you're in a hurry or just need a place to be alone.

Off-Campus Housing: Living Off Campus – Personally, as a freshmen I am required to live on campus at least till junior year. I have no experience of living off campus; however, many of my upperclassmen friends either have their own apartment or share a house with friends. They enjoy their freedom and highly recommend others to live off campus for the lost costs of rent and utilities.

3 College Sophomore

Parking: Parking is not as bad here as bigger colleges, but can be frustrating. It seems like all the parking is on the edges of campus; there are some buildings that you just HAVE to walk through or around other buildings to get to. Permits are $25 and parking lots are segregated by either Faculty/Staff or Student parking, or all permit parking. Either way ACU police is not kidding around, if you arent supposed to park there, dont, you will get a ticket!

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Near ACU – There is plenty variety in the area surrounding the campus. There are restautants to go sit down in and savor your meal, fast food, and a supermarket for fresh foods.

4 College Freshman

Diversity: ACU has a very diverse population here. It's really cool getting to know people from all over the world, let alone the United States. There are a good mix of people here.

Athletics: our football team was undefeated during their regular season this year! lots of students play intramurals

Health & Safety: blue emergency buttons everywhere around campus. very safe. never heard of any crime going on

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: When I applied for financial aid at ACU I only received a small scholarship based on my grades from high school. I didn't receive any financial aid even though our estimated family contribution was alot less than tuition for the university was.
