Guys & Girls: Guys and girls are very clique'-ish at ACU and if you do not fit the mold, you do not make the cut. People think ACU is the best place to meet your future spouse, and it should be, but because so much emphasis has been placed on the whole "ring by spring" phenomenon, real love and commitment has been lost. Every time I turn around someone is getting engaged or married or having a baby and that is great but it makes me wonder if they really know and love each other or if they have just felt pressured to get engaged or married because they do not want to graduate single.

Off-Campus Housing: Abilene has plenty of apartment complex's close to campus but unless you're willing to pay an arm and a leg, you might get a questionable apartment. It is pretty easy to find an apartment but finding one that is affordable and has a friendly staff is harder to do.

Campus Dining: It is so much easier to eat on campus and it saves money, when you have a meal plan, but the options provided in the food court are not healthy and they are more expensive than they should be on a college campus. Food in the bean is not bad but it is not good either.

Computers: Most of the school is integrated with Apple products because of the Mobile Learning Initiative, but there are plenty of PC's as well. There is always a plethora of available computers around campus, as well as ones you can check out from the library.

3 College Sophomore

Parking: Cost and tickets are totally reasonable compared to other schools, but for the students who live off-campus parking can be hard to come by. There are designated spots for student parking, but a lot of them are filled up by 9 AM.

Campus Housing: The on-campus housing is very safe and you can definitely feel the community that is alive among the residents. The RAs and RDs are very caring, and seeing that only about 10% of the applicants are chosen to serve such positions. I like how most of the dorms are close to department buildings.

Campus Housing: They are nice in general but are expensive to live in. The hot water goes out at least once a semester. It went out three times this spring semester. They are a fun place to live and feel at home.

Local Atmosphere: there are maybe one or two things to do off campus besides the usual movies and mall(which really isnt that good anyways)

1 College Freshman

Transportation: our school offers no kind of transportation. we have to rely on fellow students or walk to our destination.

3 College Freshman

Health & Safety: For the most part, I feel safe on campus. I always see the the campus police, but there are incidents that happen that do concern me.

4 College Freshman

Diversity: Religiously the diversity on the ACU campus is not extremely noticeable because most of the student go there because they are christians and are interested in the religious aspect of the university. Cultural and ethnically the diversity is very great, they have a great number of international students which makes the university very interesting and enjoyable.

Scholarships: I got a pretty good amount of money through scholarships. Although as tuition rises every year it begins to lower the significance of the amount.

Campus Dining: There is one campus dining hall, it is called "The Bean." It serves good food, there is always a salad and sandwhiches bar, a burger/grilled cheese bar, a pizza bar, a homecooking bar, and a international bar. In our campus center we also have Einsteins Bros. Bagels, Pizza Hut, Quiznos, and Chick-fil-A. You can use your meal plan in the Bean but you also get a certain amount of bean bucks that you can use at any of the food places on campus. In almost every building we have a little food court that offers snacks and drinks. We also have a Starbucks in the library.

Campus Strictness: ACU is very strict on memebers of the opposite sex going into each other's dorm rooms. You are only allowed to go into the opposite sex's room on thursdays from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. and you must keep the door open. Also there is a strict policy for freshmen having a curfew of 12 a.m. Sunday-Thursday. ACU is also strict on the no drug or alcohol policy. You will be on probabtion if you are caught with it on campus.

Transportation: We have no transportation that the school offers. Abilene Christian University's campus is small compared to bigger universities so there is no need for transportation. However the public transportation around the school isn't very good either. It comes around maybe every couple hours, if that.

Campus Housing: The freshman dorms at ACU are great! it was always clean and it was a fun atmosphere. I was in one of the newer dorms my freshman year and I loved it

4 College Student

Campus Housing: The Dorms are in good conditions, and located in the heart of the campus, meaning that there is only a short walk to class.

3 College Freshman

Athletics: There is not a lot of fans at some of the sporting events but the teams have some very good talent

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: They did everything they could to help keep me here

Athletics: The athletic teams here are ok. They are not what I would expect from a division 1 athletic program. Overall the sports are good, but have room to get better.

Computers: ACU is very technologically advanced. The library has a plethora of computers to use, most of them are Macs but there are many PCs as well. There are also laptops you can check out to use while in the library as well. There is a new technology center upstairs in the library called the Learning Studio with rooms to do group work. They have big screens that are computers and all the walls are covered in white boards. There are rooms to work on podcasts and video productions as well.

Weather: This is West Texas, so it will be hot and dry most of the time. Because of how flat it is here it is very windy as well. It is currently not raining very much at any time of the year. During winter it will get really cold for maybe a month or two (like in the 40s). If it snows or ices, which isn't often, school is cancelled. One year we were out for a whole week because of a freak ice and snow storm.

Facilities: Student life on campus is great. You can be involved with so many different things. It's up to you whether or not you want to strive your hardest to get involved or not.

4 College Sophomore

Facilities: ACU is very involved with their students. They strive to have less people in the classes so there is more professor to student interaction. That is one thing I feel that ACU does amazing with is making sure you receive the proper education and learning as you possibly can.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: This school has some pretty strict rules when it comes to dorm living on campus. You are not allowed boys in your room any day but Thursday for a few hours. If you don't follow this rule, you get a warning but then later could get kicked out of the dorm which will then lead you to not having a place to live. As long as you are mentally prepared to have strict rules and abide by them, you will be fine at this school.
